Well, I collected my baby at about 5 o'clock and I am so pleased that I haven't stopped smiling

Hopfully I'll post some pics tomorrow now that she's still got a nice shine.

P.S. I see what you all mean about the scratches on the dash - I've got some already. I think they were done when the car was cleaned by the dealer, either yesterday or today - as it came directly from Swindon on Monday, and I don't think the scratches were done in the factory

Yeah, done by slapdash valeters in the dealer. Get it swapped out.

You'd think by now that Honda UK and, in turn dealers would instruct their valeters to be very, very careful with the dash. This does, however, illustrate the value of this forum. With all the excitement of picking up a new car, I'm sure such scratches can be easily missed by the new owner at the dealership. And, of course, once you've taken the vehicle home, it's all the more difficult to argue that, in actual fact, it was the supplying garage at fault.

Make sure you get on the phone immediately and report those scratches - as others on here have reported you sometimes only see them under certain angles or lighting conditions so it's pretty pathetic when the dealership tries to suggest that you should have noticed these when doing your collection check-up as I've experienced

I spoke to the dealer this morning and told him I was passing this afternoon and I pop in to show him the scratches.

He took a look and said "oh yeah, I see what you mean - they're very light scratches, almost un-noticeable really at certain angles".

I then said to him that when I collected the car yesterday I asked the sales manager what product to use on the dash as its prone to scratching, the manager said to use a clean cloth and glass cleaner as he hadn't heard of the problem of scratches at all.

I also said that I'd heard of this problem on "a honda civic forum" - didn't mention the name but he look at me and said "I wouldn't belive what you read on those forums as the people tend to lie" - what a bloody cheek!! I've had more uesful advice and guidance here than any half decent Honda dealer could give.

He then went on to say that if the problem couldn't be sorted out on Monday then we'd have to book it in again for the opaque parts of the dash to be replaced. I look abit dumb founded as he saw the scratches, yet I have to take the car in for a technician to view it.

Oh, well at least they've been very positive and they'll sort it out. I'm pleased with the way it was dealt with too.
