Red Type-S CDTI

Hi,

This is info is also in "Introduce yourself", but I wanted to mention it here too.

I ordered a Milano Red Type-S CDTI last wednesday.
The dealer told me it will arrive in week 30 and I can have in week 31.
So that's not even 3 weeks of delivery time.

This can't be common, can it ?
I guess I'm just lucky.

Talking

I ordered mine on the 9th and should be picking it up possibly tomorrow or definitely by Tuesday. So that's just a week delivery time.
It's a brand new Type S CTDi in Deep Bronze.

I suppose dealer stock must come into play here.

Mine took a fortnight from ordering - direct from the factory. Had to compromise a little on colour - wanted Milano Red, with Alabaster Silver as a second choice.

Just depends on what is being built at the factory - Other posts have mentioned that cars are built in batches by colour and possible model.

Is the factory in England ?

The Civic & the CRV (I think) are built in Swindon, England. Not sure where the other models are built - Jazz/Accord/FRV/S2000/Legend

I'm sure someone else will know the answer though.

The Accord is built in Japan from what I understand. It took 3 months from ordering to actually picking up the car. Dealer told me it was on a slow boat from Japan.

My new Civic should be a slow lorry from Swindon by now, should be collecting on Monday, however, I'm sure it's already at the dealers delivery centre.

Hi WoolyCiv,

A dealer will always "try" and deliver your car as soon as possible, so first we look at honda stock (swindon) and if thats not good enough then we look across "group stock" i.e dealers under same name. THEN we look national, and the sales guys (me) call all the dealers who happen to have one in stock if we can have it pretty please!! and we do all this because generally the dealer will need the part ex in soon as to get rid...or taxed into that month to get their bonus's etc.....all the hard work we do for you guys going unseen....

..you're all worth it...

Hope thats at all interesting....if not then er sorry.

Milano Red Ex Diesel ordered in April.
Due for delivery at end of July, but still no word.

Has storms, panorama roof and leather seats. Would that lengthen the delivery time?

The storms and the panorma roof ? No, don't think so.

The leather seats maybe.. I don't know if Honda does them themselves or that it is outsourced to a leather company.
In that case it is possible there is a little delay.

When I ordered my NHB Civic EX with Storms, I was advised it would be end of August if I wanted leather, or mid-July without. So I decided to save a few cows.

Ordered about the 29th June. Told should be ready on Mon 23rd July, but I'm convinced car is already with the dealer, and has been for over a week.
