Red Type-S CDTI
Hi,
This is info is also in "Introduce yourself", but I wanted to mention it here too. I ordered a Milano Red Type-S CDTI last wednesday. The dealer told me it will arrive in week 30 and I can have in week 31. So that's not even 3 weeks of delivery time. This can't be common, can it ? I guess I'm just lucky. |

Mine took a fortnight from ordering - direct from the factory. Had to compromise a little on colour - wanted Milano Red, with Alabaster Silver as a second choice.
Just depends on what is being built at the factory - Other posts have mentioned that cars are built in batches by colour and possible model. |

The Accord is built in Japan from what I understand. It took 3 months from ordering to actually picking up the car. Dealer told me it was on a slow boat from Japan.
My new Civic should be a slow lorry from Swindon by now, should be collecting on Monday, however, I'm sure it's already at the dealers delivery centre. |

Hi WoolyCiv,
A dealer will always "try" and deliver your car as soon as possible, so first we look at honda stock (swindon) and if thats not good enough then we look across "group stock" i.e dealers under same name. THEN we look national, and the sales guys (me) call all the dealers who happen to have one in stock if we can have it pretty please!! and we do all this because generally the dealer will need the part ex in soon as to get rid...or taxed into that month to get their bonus's etc.....all the hard work we do for you guys going unseen.... ..you're all worth it... Hope thats at all interesting....if not then er sorry. |

The leather seats maybe.. I don't know if Honda does them themselves or that it is outsourced to a leather company. In that case it is possible there is a little delay. |
