Ok, I ordered mine on the 12th of December. The dealer had been saying he could get the 1.8ES for me by February but wouldn't take a deposit off me till he'd confirmed that. By the 12th he was able to tell me that it would actually be more like the end of March.... Not much I could do so I went with it.
By the start of March things were looking Iffy on the delivery date and then on the 12th of March my car was stolen and written off. So I was carless. The dealership I'd ordered the car from said that they could lend me a car if my Civic was coming in a week or too however...it now looked like it would be the end of June....or possibly July!! So I started looking around and ended up finding a garage in Cork (I live in Dublin) that said that had the model I wanted in the colour I wanted on May Allocation. The price they quoted was the same so I went for it. I had a rental car from the insurance company for two weeks, then a week on the bus, then two weeks off work, another week on the bus and by then the car was ready to be collected. My wife and I flew down to Cork (good old Ryan air) and drove back up in the new car. I made sure to get the deposit back from the origional dealer too. That's my story. |

Absolutely worth it. I've been looking at a huge number of cars and finally settled on the Civic and I'm sure I made the right decision. Reliability was a big point for me but I wanted something a bit different from the norm too. The new Civic arrived on the Scene at just the right time.

Also from Finland, i've ordered my 1.8 Sport galaxy grey metallic in December 17/2005. Visited R-Juoppi last week, the estimated delivery time on the computer was listed as june. Lets hope it doesnt slip, several orderes have been postponed 1-6 months due to a strike in germany. There are abt. 500-1000 cars stuck in loading bays :/. I heard that there's a new shipment of Hondas coming in May 15 -> May 30. Lets hope my precious is on that shipment Im amazed how poorly the honda dealers have information about shipping times. I mean come on, they dont even know which cars are on a ship? What the heck is up with that´? I've already waited 6 months... thats a ****ng long time Lets hope my baby gets to me in june |

Ordered mine on 28th January, collected it on 22 April. Mind you, only had it for a week before the dealer came to collect it to put right all the problems I found on collection. Nothing major, mostly cosmetic (see gallery for one example), they had not prep'd it well at all, in fact the carpet did not even fit down the side of the passenger seat!
Sorry for off topic request, but any owners had issues with the steering wheel not being centred when going straight? Had to get mine sorted out, drove me mad. |
