New type s gt ishift NHB 1.8 £16,027 -- good deal?
Got a dealer to pricematch autobytels £16027 for a new type S GT 1.8 ishift including NHB. The sat nav option is +£700, is this a good deal or has anyone done better elsewhere?
Thanks |

Forgive me for my ignorance but, what is the point of buying a Type S GT and then asking for i-shift. You'll have time to light a fag and half smoke it while it's changing down to overtake, and then set light to your eyebrows when it takes off. I-shift is for lazy drivers.

OTR prices for the NHB GT 1.8 i-Shift with satnav on different wheels are:
17" 18,752 (Std wheels) 17" 19,402 (Penta, Epsilon or Sedici) 18" 19,602 Assuming the worst (Std 17"), at £16,727 you are getting 11% off, which is an extraordinarily good discount. As others have said, make sure you go for a long test drive with an i-Shift, including all types of road conditions, to make sure you're happy with it. Personally, if the manual car was £2,000 more than the i-shift, I'd pay it. Reference: http://www.hondauk-media.co.uk/prote...automobile.pdf |

I am not too conversant with the S GT models, but if it is a three door, I understand Honda UK are quietly offering inducements to Honda UK dealers on some/all three door models. However at the end of the day you appear to have clinched a good deal. Well done!

I-Shift is very good to drive, especially in city, and still very good on open roads. Yes, you can shift faster manually, but overall it is good enough even for fast driving. Only thing it is not good for is drag racing (or as others prefer it, racing from one traffic light to other). |
