Hi all, I have just contacted my local dealer & he has quoted me £145.00 for the 1st service on my 5,000 mile 1.8 se civic. Is this a fair price? Thanks.

Sounds like the price for a 12,500, service they will do the full service despit your mileage although a couple of yrs ago with our last civic they did what they called a minor service and charged £90 ( car had done 5800 miles) |

I paid for the 5 years service package at £500.00 and , as I paid it 6 months ago, I have forgotten it; until I had my first service in early August, which was free of all charges, and the dealer even offered me a courtesy car.
I think the £145 sounds about right. The next service will be around £165, I think. 3 years paid servicing works out roughly to the 5 years package price, and the balance on the package can be passed on (better trade-in value if you decide to p/x early). I had to phone my dealer & ask abut the service.
I don't think I will bother trying another dealer as it means travelling quite a few miles & £145 does not appear to be too bad for a 12,000 mile service. |

Had my 1.8 petrol serviced a month ago.
Phoned dealer at Crewe who supplied the car and they quoted £110.00 for first annual service. Phoned local dealer in Macclesfield who quoted £148.00 (I think). Told them about the Crewe quote & suggested I'd travel the 21 miles further but was told they'd ring me back after enquiry with service manager. Soon after the Macclesfield ALM dealer phoned & agreed to service for £110.00, so needless to say I took it locally. I suggest you ring round a few dealers first... |

i live on the isle of wight, only one dealer!
If i were to go for a dealer on the mainland, it would involve at least a £40 return ferry journey! |

Yeoman's Honda Littlehampton, have always offered a courtesy car, usually a Civic. Lately I've asked for the 2.2 diesel and now I'm trying to find a way to buy one. My last Civic was the Rover/Honda, a tinny, reliable, under-powered but generally satisfying experience. Not a patch on the Accord, though. Can't wait to see the new coupé. |

Phoned local dealer today to book car in for its service & was offered rear parking sensors fitted for £199 as part of a september special offer with servicing.
Is that a good price? |

Partly depends if they're OEM sensors or not. I recall that some Civ info users found that their stealers were fitting cheaper parking sensors and then charging the list price for original Honda ones!
So definitely worth asking if they're OEM, colour coded ones! |

Just had my car serviced by Drake & Fletcher Maidstone & must say I was very impressed with he service I got. The car was given a full valet & they gave me a free litre of mobil oil for topping up. All this for £145, I never received this sort of service from peugeot dealers.

i had my first service a couple of weeks ago, it was for the 1.8. ive got 2 dealers in edinburgh and the first one i asked quoted me (i think it was) £139. then phoned up 2nd one to see and they quoted me first £169!! so i told them i got quoted cheaper then they lowered their price... not very nice... but i went with the second one bcos they could give me a courtesy car in 2 days, rather 2 weeks with he other dealer..
service was ok, they even washed and vacummed the car too (dont know if thats standard with servicing).. |

"they gave me a free litre of mobil oil for topping up"
Was it really free!!!!! I though this when we had our Jazz, check the bill you may well find you have been charged for it. I used to tell them I didnt need it as I still had the last 2 they sold me and they used to take it off the final bill. |

That seems expensive to me Russell I have just paid £145 for the 1st service on my 1.8 SE, had a quote of £166 from my selling dealer which I thought was too much so went elsewhere.
