No More Champagne Silver on 08 Model

My wife recieved a phonecall today informing us that we had to change the colour of our car from champagne silver to a different colour as it was no longer available. I was a little shocked as it seemed a nice popular colour and the colour my wife and I had agreed on as I wasn't allowed black .

However, after a short conversation with my wife I was allowed to purchase the black model with a light interior. Not that I am under the thumb or anything!

So in the end I get the car I really want, but how many other colours have gone for the 08 model

First I've heard of Champagne silver being pulled, the other loss is the vivid blue...

Being replaced by tangerine orange

Maybe different countries lose a different colour depending on what's either not selling well, or what's too popular, and Honda would prefer other colours to be on the road to break the monotony up a bit.
Hard to know exactly how it's arrived at.

Shame to Honda if they made rid off Champagne Silver...

Most of the car I've seen here in France are Champagne or NHB.

White R type could be nice... But Mr Honda keep it for the R type and let the Champagne for 5D models

I ordered it about 2 weeks ago! But we also specified the beige interior so it wasn't planned for production to later in the year because of the interior.

Over the years I've read many car reviews (Car magazine, TopGear, What Car) in which light coloured gold cars have been described as 'OAP beige'. I think I've read that the colour doesn't sell well in the UK too. Not sure why because I rather like it but have avoided it (as with white which I also like) for this very reason. So perhaps Honda have dropped it in the UK due to low demand ?

As for the vivid blue (which I like too), once again, the more adventurous the colour then the more of a fashion related decision it will be, it will often 'date' the car too, the orange looks fabulous but in 3 years time you'll know it was a 2008MY car if you're observant (or a sad petrol-head) like me.....

Just think how all those metallic turquoise cars from the mid 1990s looked by 2000 (OK this dates me I know).

I agree that the colour could seen a little 'oap' but I really liked it and I am nowhere near 'oap age'. I don't live in the UK and over here it is quite a popular colour. Having said that they don't believe me that Honda has an 'age' issue with there cars as the believe them to be 'too modern' for older people.

I understand that colour is relative to the person etc etc but I am not sure that champagne silver would have the 'fashion police' out in years to come, although I am hardly a fashion victim and wouldn't have a clue.

Tangerine orange scares me

I'd point out that I like Champagne Silver, I also like your NHB / Beige choice !

My Audi is black with (what they call) a light grey interior (which looks like beige imho) - I'd warn you that it's not very practical though (shows marks easily) - especially with young children !

Thankfully don't have children and did point this fact out to my dearly beloved but she insisted that the black interior looked like a coffin. Hence 'our' decision to go for the beige interior. My wife mentioned something about cleaning it more

.......and you think I have a problem now, suspend the next account and say good bye to pleasure in any shape or form.

At least the Civic is going to be my car ( my wife will drive a skoda fabia) and doesn't directly effect her, the next account is like an extention of an arm to a woman.
