Smile Deal done on the dog and bone

My previous posts can be found under Engine, transmission etc regarding the i-shift models. After failing to clinch a deal locally, (in the north west) I spotted an advert on this website from Browns Honda, Essex. Deal done on the phone re a 1.8 ES i-shift NHB - £1500 discount - not interested in extra goodies, except mats and mudflaps, drooling they may be. Delivery late September. Do any of you guys with NHB's have any tips re cleaning please. I am retired so I will/should have time to nurture the car but any advice welcome. I have not gone for the proprietary bodywork protection either. I seem to recollect some of you have bought the product on e-Bay? Yes? Thank you. Very happy and excited bunny

Hi Brodick, Mmmmm, I know what you mean. Colour choice is very personal and I have always said I would not have a black car. However I do think the car suits NHB, again an opinion and I should have the time to care for it. I now have a 1.7 Civic Coupe auto, 2001, in Titanium, 52k, FHSH, surplus to requirements - anyone interested? Still a happy bunny!

nicely done!

Now you just need to spend the next 3 weeks completly reading the Cleaning section in here LOL

Unfortunately, cleaning products are much like colour choice - some people will swear by one product, some by another...
and there are loads to choose from!

you can't go far wrong with mcguires, and it's available in Halfords, but you can start spending serious money for even better results

But all the answers (and more LOL) are available in here

enjoy!

Well done. Like you I am retired and want a great looking car with not too much effort, and have NHB.

I found Meguiars Quik Wax is easy to apply and polish off. It contains carnauba wax. Give the paint and all windows (except the front screen of course) two or three applications. Then follow up with two applications of Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer leaving a day between each one and follow the instructions on the bottle.

The result is stunning and the effort minimal. Take your time doing a panel at a time.

Clean the windscreen and interior glass with Meguiars NXT Glass Cleaner. Amazing stuff.

You can get your polish etc from this link, post paid:

MEGUIARS

Good luck, Al.

Ps: also have a look at this ( ignore the initial advert after it loads) : Jay Leno's Garage

Pps: I also meant to say that the Ultimate QD takes away that light 'bloom' that you sometimes get under certain lighting conditions. Just as they show in the Jay Leno video.

I paid £15727, 1.8 i-shift ES NHB. That includes everything to leave the dealer's forecourt including a tank full of petrol. The discount was confirmed by my local dealer who could not, unfortunately, match the price. Apparently it is all about discounts handed down to dealers from Honda UK, I am told. The more you sell, the bigger discount you get from Honda UK.There could be other bargains to be had out there.......I am happy. I have got the car and colour of my choice at a good discount AND I don't have to wait very long!:

...yes; I do get enthusiastic about things that I get real pleasure from....I can recollect something else from way-back....ah well; those were the day's.

Incidentally; I've just done my wife's 207. Over 5 years old and it looks like new. The black trim has come up so well it looks like I've had new bits fitted. Incredible stuff that Ultimate Quik Detailer....oops, there I go again.

LUBRICITY RULES.....OK?
