Used type r "s" not selling on ebay

Hi I have just brought a new 07 type r off ebay wich did not get one bid on although it is on finance the guy has lost his job, but I have also noticed the 4 or 5 on ebay do not seem to get bids on, but old shape get loads of bids and final sales ???? stew

I think a lot of people are nervous about purchasing such a new car
on EBAY.

Make sure you are happy before you complete on your purchase

more to the point, make sure you're not buying the oustanding finance along with the car...

because chances are, the finance co still has title over it - and could come get it from your drive...

Unless of course, he took out redundancy cover on the loan - BUT given that the R hasn't been out long, and most redundancy cover has clauses like "not valid if you knew you would be made redundant when you took the cover out"


I hope it all goes well, but make sure that everything is completly on the level before parting with the cash

just had a quick shufty

A search on ended auctions shows that only a small fraction of Type Rs (of all agaes) atually meet reserve price or get bids - a whole sea of red (unsold)!

And could only find 1 '07 R that had sold, about a week ago


Wasn't the deepest of searches tho, as you can tell from how long I devoted to it

There are no real bargains and I don't expect there to be with demand still so high.

Would you buy a a 6 month old car off ebay unseen from someone you don't know for a price not much less than a new one ?

- How was it run in, has it been bounced off the rev limiter from cold for all of its short life ?
- Why are they selling ?
- Are the paintwork / wheels / general condition what you would expect. Peoples idea of immaculate / excellent condition differ ?
- The finance reasons TTDegs points out.

I would be very careful about this. It would need to be a good saving.

A new unregistered one is obviously safer, but you still need to be careful.

I`m afraid if I wanted that new a car I would much rather buy from my local Honda Dealer where I have all the safeguards and backup.
I must add I`m a regular EBayer but not for cars
