thinking of selling my civic

to replace it with another one

IVe had it 6 months now. ES 2,2 Tdi with the glass roof. But I think I would like the higher spec model with Sat Nav, Bluetooth and leather seats.

Also tempted to see how much an ex demo type R would be.

So will I lose loads on my 2.2 56 plate, i paid just over 15K for it ?

The PX price is £12950 according to Parkers, or about £13870 for selling it privately, so yes you lose a lot

Why don't you just keep it another six months and then change it?

I would keep it another 6 months or so if you can, I managed to part ex mine recently (Car was 11 months old!) and the dealer cleared all outstanding finance currently on the car and I bought the spec higher than mine. Obviously the time of year you go is crucial to get good deals.

Will it not loose another 2 grand over the next 6 months too then ?

I supose April when its paid off would be a better time to buy/upgrade then

Biggest depreciation hits the instant it changes from 'new' to 'second hand' - ie when you buy it.
After that initial hit, it tends to be a fairly steady drop, so no, hopefully it won't loose another 2 grand in 6 months
