Opinions please

I have recently placed an order from lloyds car select for a type s. It is due to arrive in about 3 weeks time. No payment or deposit has come out of my bank account yet but a finance agreement has been signed. I have just found out today That i am been sent to Qatar in february for 4 months. My question is, is there any point in getting a brand new car in late october only to leave it in a garage for 4 months in feb till may. Should I wait and get one when I get back?

Thanks

If you can wait till you come back you will be able to get an 08 plate, probably for the same money you are paying now.

All depends whether you think you will be able to get the same deal next year.

I intended waiting for an 08 plate, didn't manage it though and placed my order at the weekend, car being picked up next week!

I don't know what business (or the services?) you're in CTS, but the initial estimate of duration of overseas assignments in my life were mostly way out!

The record was 'a four week assignment' that ended up as 2 years (in India), but my working life has been littered with grossly underestimated assignment durations!

Could be just as well to put the purchase off if possible - and anyway, you might be able to afford a better model when you come back!!

Best of luck anyway!
