08 Civic models

I have just learned from a dealer in the south east that there is a price rise imminent in the Civic range. Don't panic! It's apparently quite modest. It works out approximately £200 per model. The dealer tells me he has had no date from Honda UK when the price rise will take effect. He feels that the price hike will affect 08 models. I have also spoken to two separate dealers regarding any changes/upgrade to the 08 models. Both claim that as far as they are aware there are no changes in the model range apart from the colour changes which we already know about from threads on this forum.

I believe that the £200 increase, is to cover the cost of rear parking sensors as standard.

That would be fair enough and probably quite a bargain. I still believe Honda dealers remain mostly in the dark as to what is around the corner. Thank you.

They have to shift their present stock mate.
Can't have the punters deciding to wait a bit.

I've just (Monday) order a 2.2 EX - dealer said the prices had gone up by about £200

Due to lead time waiting for certain colours he said there was another dealer that had the right car in the showroom and they could get that one. Sounded good - but now I'm wondering if I've paid 2008 prices for a 2007 model.

Is the chassis number the definitive way to tell the year?

I didn't hear the news about the change of colors for next year, what do these changes include?

According to my information and other members, Champagne Silver Metallic and Vivid Blue Pearl are being dropped. In the UK that is for 08 models. I further understand an 'Orange' is to be introduced. If I am wrong, I'm sure I'll be corrected, properly, by those who are better in the know. All this is rumour but allegedly from good sources. I would have thought that if two colours are being dropped, two new colours are being introduced. I do not know whether the colour changes are across the board or just the five or three door models. As Jack the Lad says, Honda will want to shift the present stock of 07 cars.
Hope this helps.

The Vin number displayed through the window at the bottom left of the front windscreen shows the model year <06 - 07 - 08> in the middle of the Vin number.

The parking sensors are for EX models only.

In my opinion it's a real shame there isn't white color option for civic. Imagine a white civic with 18 storms, it would look spectacular, not to mention a white Type R like that concept shown in that auto show.

Trouble is -- White has always been the base colour for cars and the dealers still consider it is worth less on the used car market. ?

Metallic white looks very classy, I prefer it very much, looks much better then the classic pastel white that older cars have.

As Honda use a white undercoat, it wouldn't show up the stone chips.
But then, if they went for white, they would probably use a black undercoat, just to p-ss us off.
