Todays nightmare collection of my CTR

I picked up my new CTR GT today from Enfield Honda, and what a nightmare it was. They screwed up my registeration and gave me a new plate 2 days before picking up the car. Today when they went for the paper work so I could buy the new car they lost the tax disk, so I now have a car with no tax till Monday. Waited 2 1/2 hours to sort everything out, then got home and realised that the carpets where not screwed in so had to go back! Then when I got home I found my new log book had been delivered by post, but for the old previuos number plate! I was livid by this time!

Now I've discovered that I only have one locking wheel nut key, is this normal as there are two places in the box? Peugeot gave me 2 locking keys in their set. I am thinking of complaining to Honda head office, you dont pay £19k and get all this stress! I was also given 3 years free AA cover but do you think I can find any paper work for that??

As for going back for a service next year, they can stick it! What a nightmare!

Generally you don't get any paper work for the breakdown cover. Its actually called Honda Assist (so if they change their contract to the RAC - it has no impact on you).

If you ever have a problem, just call Honda Assist (AA) and your membership number is the registration number of the car.

Hope that gives you some help!

Simply NOT good enough!
There ARE 2 locking keys. So get them to fit a new set if they cant find the other.
Tell them that you are contcting HCS and demand some compensation.
If they refuse, tell them they wont be seeing you again.

Sounds like your dealer really screwed up. Try not to let it spoil the new car for you, its brilliant.

Its horror stories like these which make me think I should just get the dealer to register the car and then change the plate myself.

I have a private plate, but as I had my car under my Mum's name before she is down as the keeper of the plate and i'm a nominee. She has signed saying that its to be applied to my car as i'm a nominee, but I have this horrible feeling that when I pick the car up its going to be registered to my Mum cause they may have cocked the paperwork up.

Think I will just get them to give me a set of plates with my private number on too.....then when I do come to selling the car I don't have to go and get a set of plates made up for the original number.

Enjoy your car tho, it will all be good in the end

Ah, nothing more annoying, at least they are minor issues in terms of the car, should be easily sorted.

OK thats another thing to add to the list, Thanks. There was also another member on here who also received just one locking key and thought it was normal, I thought it was strange. I will contact the dealer yet again tomorrow and demand the other lock or a new set! They can deliver it to my house with the missing road tax tomorrow night! What a bunch of cowboys! Thanks.

Your not the only one that had issues picking up your new car.
Reading Honda or should I say my sales guy was rubbish.
I was their at 9am ready to sign paper work. Took him over an hour and we were still going through it! I then signed the finance - took 5 minutes great, I can now drive my new car. The car wan't even at the front waiting......I had to wait ages for it to appear then the sales guy says he has to go and fill it up with diesel! When it did appear all the windows were smeary as was the dash, and I could see lots of water marks on the paint! over 3 and 1/2 hours laster I finaly drove off...The dealer said they would call be after a week to see how I am getting on and Honda UK would call also. I picked mine up 1st sept - still waiting for both calls! Now it rattels and stereo has issues....
Like you cnicolini I too are very unhappy - shame - because Honda have not made a good impression and will possible be my first and last Honda.....

Some people on this site are getting there wires crossed, Honda use McGard locking wheel nuts, it should be ingraved on the special socket. Looking at McGards website you only get one special socket: Performance Alloys.com - Wheel Lock Nuts, Lock Bolts, Alloy Wheel Nuts & Bolts, McGard Locking Wheel Nuts

Its a good job I did nt complain!

You only get one Locking Key. The blister pack, stores 4 Nuts + 1 Key.

(Has done in the last 5 Honda's I've owned).

The blister pack I got looks like this as well - currently holds the 4 normal nuts and the key.

It does look like the plastic bubble on the back has space for two keys, although the cardboard insert, between the two layers of plastic only has cut outs for 1 key and the 4 nuts.

Mine is exactly the same (March 07 car) only one key with a "hidden" empty space for a second key perhaps from earlier versions?

When I bought mine the salesman told me that he hadnt got any fuel in it yet.
"Would it be OK for us to drive to the garage for a tankfull, as part of the handover?"
"No problem". I said
Off we went. I noticed that the fuel light was on and the gauge was showing empty.
He said it would be OK.
Arrived at the garage. He filled it up.
I then started the engine and there was a clanking sound and a slight, what only can be described as, a misfire!
He just said,
"Oh dear. There was less than I thought!"
I was not impressed.
On the drive back to the garage (About a mile) he said that the dealer would be contacting me about the car and my salesman's performance etc..
"Dont forget to give me positive feedback will you"
In your dreams I thought
I,ve never had any phone call from the dealer to this day.
I bought the car in June!!

Thats very poor service, anyone would think that they gave you their cars for free! lol We pay good money and expect good service, they would nt put up with it in the USA. If I get a call I wont be holding any punches, you should nt have to lie for them. Its the only way that they can improve their service, even if it means that Honda head office has to kick their back side from time to time!

So we all agree, we should only get one special socket with the set of locking wheel nuts! Lets hope that we do not misplace it!

Yeah, MacGuard only ever supply one locking wheel nut key - when you buy them as a set from a supplier @ £30 you get a registration card incase it gets 'lost' and then they have to send you a new one.
