Question 20-week lead times on Ivory Leather 1.8 ES?

Hi everyone, it's my first post so please be nice...

I was just about to sign on the line for a 1.8 ES with Royal Blue Pearl and ivory leather, and the dealer has quoted a lead time of 20 weeks!!! If I go for black leather it's only 4... I'm still very keen to have ivory, though. Is this going to be the same 20-week wait wherever I go for the car, i.e. an online broker, another Honda garage?

So it's not a standard Honda lead time?

You could get it with standard seats and get Tranform Leather to convert it to any colour leather interior you want.

They make them relative to demand, i.e they make batches to order. It's likely they are waiting to have enough orders to make producing a batch worthwhile.

Honda build civics in batches - mainly of exterior colours.
However, they may or may not have a stock of ivory leather interiors - it wouldn't surprise me if they ran a batch of them through at once as well

I would suggest that your best bet would be to phone round or visit a couple of other dealers.

2 reasons for this:
Some dealers seem to have more 'clout' with Honda than others.
There might be a Civic of your exact requirements sitting on a forecourt somewhere (though this is unlikely with your options - most dlrs ordering a car for stock will go with the more common options).

Some dealerships will have done this for you - but not all do...

I've ordered my Civic Type S 2.2 GT in NHB with 18" Blades, and have been given a lead time of 12 weeks for delivery.

It's now due the first week in November, but I've read that some people have had problems with Honda sticking to their quoted delivery dates.

Anyone had this problem and if so, what sort of delay did you recieve?.

Cheers People

Keep tasting the gravy
