Car mats included?

Hi I've just put down a deposit on an 11 month old Galaxy Grey EX 1.8 I-Shift with Glass roof and leather and can't wait to pick her up and start modding!
I just remembered though that the car didn't have any mats in there during the test-drive and I notice they are a £60 option, but surely the previous owners must have ordered these too???

Can I bargain them into the deal when I got to pay the balance or am I clutching at straws??

P.S. Pics to come!!

You can try to get them thrown in as part of the deal. The previous ower may not have bought mats, see if the anchor point for the drivers one is fitted

I suspect now that you've ordered your clutching at straws.

I had to pay £60 for my mats but I squeezed a free space saver wheel out of my dealer plus I got an excellent trade in on my old motor!

I refuse to buy a car if they can't be bothered to include the mats - was nice to hear the salesman tell me that he finds it embarassing to give a new car to a customer and have no mats inside when they get in.

If I recall, car mats are usually thrown into the deal however the cost of them are reduced from the salesmans commission. Thats why when I was haggling over my Type-S, I had a reasonable discount and a decent part ex value but the dealer refused mats even though the additional cost to them was minimal compared to the other things we had negotiated. He held on firm at offering a 50% discount on the mats until I told him that I was walking away and 'would think about it overnight' at which point he offered the mats.

Daft I know, but I think thats how it works and is why it is sometimes something the salesman will not be keen to throw in.

Back to the OP. If the deposit has already been paid, you could have a struggle getting the mats thrown in now.

Hi, I managed to get the mats thrown in when I picked up the car, but they were literally thrown in! The driver's side isn't clipped down or anything, so can someone tell me how much the binding posts cost that hold it in place?

My wife was also given a nice bouquet of flowers, which I thought was a nice touch!!

1. Take it back and get them to fit them properly. The fitting kit is included with the mats and should be fitted with them!!
2. Flowers are usual, but my salesman forgot to give them to us!!!
He rang a day later and said they are here if you want to come and get them. I didnt bother!!

If the drivers mat isn't anchored then don't use it. There have been a few incidents where the mat has slipped forward and held the throttle open.

Possibility of it hindering the brake pedal as well.

I also got my mats for free - - - - and got the flowers, oh, and a free bottle of touch-up.

I wonder if they still present flowers if they know your single (and male)?
