1st service

just had my first service a little late due to getting it bumped in a supermarket ,my civic was bought in march ,it has done 13000 miles ,i have already had to replace the 2 front tyres ,i need a software upgrade for my ecu but they dont have it yet ,they said there are quite a few probs with the original map,i do drive the car very hard but i only get it at weekends as my wife uses it for work,i also needed a set of brake pads on the front,i know due to having the tuning unit on that it gives more torque but i did not think it would effect the brake pads as quick as that, good job the car is leased and i dont pay for services/parts or tyres

Interesting that it was bought in March and qualifies for the ECU remap.

13,000 miles in 7 months, that's some going

Hmmm, I've done 5,000 in 2 months....

Which means first service just after Christmas, I think I'll start saving now!

I would strongly suggest those doing high mileages investigate the Honda Happiness servicing scheme.

5 years or 62,500 for £500 (may have risen since I last looked?) for the i-vtec and a bit more for the diesel.

5 years of service from honda on that scheme is now £800 that is what we got told anyway when we test drove the civic 2 weeks ago

£500 for petrol, £850 for diesel - transferable to new owners.

my first set of tyres lasted nearly 12K miles, and the second set just slightly longer.
Still on original rears at 26K, with a fair bit of life left in them yet

pads were "30% worn" at 1st service, and "99% worn" at second...
(the 99% I believe...)

my car is leased so i dont have to worry about the cost of tyres, brakes etc as the lease covers all costs except insurance and oil top ups or punctures
