Just signed for 2.2 CTDI ES!
I'm new to the forum, so I thought I would just outline the deal I got on my new black civic 2.2 CTDI ES. The dealer included rear sensors (garage fit) and lic plate transfer, but only offered basic book price for my trade in Astra. I worked it out at 8.6% discount, minus any major profit he makes from the trade in. Signed on Friday, delivery this Thursday. Also offered 20% off mats & spare tyre accessories. Also quoted £399 for gap ins (including 'free' AutoGlym paint finish).
So, Probably go for the mats and spare tyre. Should I go for the gap ins and paint finish? Found gap ins for about £200 on the net. Is the paint finish worth it? Thanks for any response. |

Welcome to the club! - You'll love the car!
Be careful with Gap Ins quotes - they come in different flavours at different prices! Honda's is 'Back to Invoice' and will basically pay you back ALL of the money you paid for the Car - (a lot will only pay off the remaining finance!) ANY paint protection is helpful since the paints have moved to water based! So I'd say go for it! |

I refused the dealer superguard (or whatever flavour it is they sold) treatment. In my view completely overpriced and doesn't actually offer any paint protection anyway. It just means you don't need to wax your car for longer and allegedly makes washing the car slightly easier too.
Seemed a load of rubbish to me and a few contacts in the car industry who I consulted felt so too. |
