dear all,the honda sensors are more expensive but do the same job.if ** geting a discount then they will prob fit the cheaper ones.if u spec ** car at time of purchase and ask for a city pack or something similiar u should get honda ones.the honda ones are slightly larger and come ready painted, the cheaper get painted by the dealer.most dealers dont fit front ones as the kits only come as a rear set.only the honda legend comes with front and rear sensors as standard.

I have an EX and so was forced to have Honda ones. They are useless and the car has been back twice (unsuccessfully) to try and get some sound out of them! Anything not made by Honda is bound to be better.

Getting front and rear ones fitted this Thursday £600 Inc VAT. Am assured that they wil be Honda genuine parts but can one ever know. The pictures on the bords don't look too different to me to be able to be confident. Hope that the tone on the front is different to the rear otherwise going into the garage I wont have a clue of what I'm about to hit.

I discovered the speaker of the PDC today and I find it very disappointing. It's simply glued to the passenger side of the cover in the trunk. Not hiding it has the advantage of louder sound, but at the same time favours damage by loose content in the trunk. For this amount of money that it had cost, it's rather a rip-off.
However I'm pretty sure that I got the original Honda ones, as my sensors don't look like the aftermarket ones IIRC. Nevertheless, it would be helpful if someone could confirm that the speaker of the original Honda accessory PDC is situated in the trunk (possibly at a different position due to dealer fit) and is simply a round black plastic housing with 2 - 3 slits and no switch to adjust the volume (e.g. L/M/H-switch)? And perhaps include a photography? I will do it ASAP. |

Strange as Honda don't offer the option of front parkings sensors on the civic, unless they are using the same sensors on the front that is..... |

Sounds the same sounder type as we have on our 06 EX and its been placed just behind the offside C pillar, right by any passengers ear (had to put black tape over it to turn the volume down on ours. Seems that the dealers fit the sounder wherever is easiest / the cusmtomer asks them to. |
