You're right in that sometimes I would feel better a "professional" did the work instead but then again you may question after that how good a job they did and be paranoid about rattles and squeeks that they may have introduced. Me doing the work myself really allowed me to see how easy a job it is though.

My next task is to fit a iPod adapter, now that job does seem much more scary as you have to remove most of the front console and the plastics around the transmission tunnel! Still going to give it a go!
You, my friend, are a braver man than I
Good luck

The cheapest parking sensors are free, they're your eyes!

Even being disabled I can reverse park the car no problem, just trust your own judgement.

Its not that difficult, is it?

i dunno Wheelchair, I have to say i'd have agreed with you, the toledo was harder to judge again.. but the sensors are still really useful, and i can hear them!

having to get used to different turning circle & different mirrors.. too scared to reverse into my space earlier, needed a cuppa to steady my nerves first time!

A lot of Dealers will fit the sensors when the car arrives because factory options will slow the delivery time of the car down, as long as this is pointed out to you and you decide then its ok, but its not ok to lead a customer into thinking he is getting the factory option without telling them.

An astute observation if I may say so.

I think an option is either dealer fit or factory fit, not both.

Normally correct but parking sensors fall into both categories.

The civic ex amongst other cars comes as standard with sensors, these are fitted at the factory. If you buy an SE and request sensors to be fitted, they are fitted at the dealership.

Shurm is not quite right in that there is no either or option. The car has them fitted at the factory as std spec or it doesnt.

Ok I understand what your saying but then its more a case of product knowledge by the salesman who when the car is sold should be able to tell any customer who is thinking of purchasing parking sensors whether they will be fitted as standard at the factory or that they will be fitted at the dealership...simple . So if a Honda car does not have them as standard its a dealer fit. Other manufacturers allow you to specify parking sensors at the point of sale as a factory option, this is how I thought Honda worked but sometimes these options slow a car down in arriving.
