Any comments on the Swindon Honda dealer?

Hi,

I'm considering changing my current car (Seat Leon Cupra) for a Civic 2.2 CTDi.
I like the Leon, but a massive negative factor in owning this car is the service you get from the dealer. They have a poor level of knowledge on the car as far as I can tell, and in my experience, their mission is to screw you for as much as possible. There is also a lack of independant specialists in this area, so I'm stuck really.

I would appreciate any comments on the quality of the local Honda dealer (price, expertise, etc..), or the availability of independants in this area (Swindon) to work on Honda cars. But judging by the excellent comments I've heard about Honda reliability, I should never need them, right?

I was hoping to change my car next year, and I am thinking about a Cupra or Type R. The only problem is after owning a Diesel ( all be it a Civic 2.2 sport) is that I cannot justify the cost of running a petrol hot hatch. I now regret getting rid of my old Type R. So unless you do the milage to justify it or you really like Hot hatches. Think long and hard about it. Because going back to a petrol car seems a ridiculous idea, however much you want too.

True. Once a diesel always a diesel.
Incedently. Why are there no more fuel duty strikes??
Its much higher than it was then.
Haulage companies are getting crippled by the fuel prices.

I was a bit hesitant after dealing with some of the other "Fish Bros" franchises....but the Honda dealer was refreshing low pressure.

I bought the ex-demo 2.2 Diesel and i think it was John, made it all very easy agreed a good deal, and they even gave me a good price for the trade in.

Servicing sometimes has a bit of a backlog if you need a loan car but they have looked at several things under warranty and have been generally very helpful

Send me a PM if you want to take this offline
