Honda has had a slight blip (but only a slight blip) It is just unfortunate that some people were affected by the blip chatbox |

Brodick and TC you are both on opposite ends of any debate on the Civic by virtue of your experiences. Brodick we all know your mum's car is without defect and TC we all know that your car is a complete disaster and you probably won't buy another Civic. I for one am bored of reading the same argument throughout the threads.
Most of us sit on the middle. I am mostly happy with my car it was £17K with a Trade In. It is a 2.2 CDTI EX with some extra options. I have done 45,000 miles since June 06 so I am not bothered what value my options do or don't bring as my high mileage means my car won't be worth much when I come to trade it in. However I expect the fuel filler cap to open when I pull the lever, the inbuilt Bluetooth kit to allow people to hear me (these has been fixed). I expect the boot to open fully, without showering me with water when it has rained and the Radio to work the same way it did in my old car (still can't get them to fix these and tbh have given up trying). I am happy that it starts every time, performs well and gives me excellent fuel economy. I also expect that for most people a car is the second largest purchase they make and so when a forum like this exists people are going to post problems and one of the concerns is the amount of money you have spent to get something that doesn't work the way they expect. Brodick I know you are trying to bring balance so this forum doesn't look like a rant at Honda. But please see the debate from the other side we don't all have cars without faults and you shouldn't belittle our concerns just because you don't have issues or we talk about how much our cars were. As I said I spent 17K on my car I see it as a 17K car (or at least it was until I drove it off the forecourt) Sometimes it's just nice to know that you aren't going mad and the problem you think you have is really a problem. This forum has helped me have a better experience with the car than I might have done had I not known about problems that others were experiencing. Thank you Pottsy for all your hard work. Steve |
