Type s gt 2.2 price

Hi,

What are people experiences of the dealers driving the prices down on type s gt 2.2 (milano red)? On drivethedeal it has a price of 16100quid. I went into a local dealship and they said they couldnt get down to that. Am i wasting my time in trying all the dealships in scotland?? They said the brokers dont have as many overheads as them.

You get what you pay for in MO.
Like -- Having paid the dosh out, will you have any comeback, if it is delivered with scratches etc, stonechipped, had the arse driven out of it by the bloke who gets paid £5 an hour for dropping them off. ??
Thats why the dealers cannot match it.

Honda dealers tend not to give huge discounts unless Honda has some sort of incentive on or you are looking at a pre reg and even then

you just need to shop round phone or e-mail a few dealers see what sort
of prices they are offering - play them off against each other

if you are still not getting the deal you want then go with drive the deal
just remember to keep file copies of all correspondance

this from autobytel:

HONDA CIVIC DIESEL HATCHBACK 2.2 i-CTDi Type S GT 3dr £17,567 £1,176 £16,390 HONDA CIVIC DIESEL HATCHBACK 2.2 i-CTDi Type S 3dr [Sat Nav+ HFT] £17,967 £1,204 £16,762

as you can see the jump from GT to satnav is just +£372!! However the drive the deal price is cheaper.

I'd say hold your horses, DO keep trying to negotiate with dealer after dealer. You WILL get your price matched.

Good luck

If you can't get it matched or nearly matched like I did, I see nothing wrong with using DTD. You deal direct with a dealer anyway and you don't have to get it delivered. Nothing to stop you buying a train ticket and going to pick the car up from the dealer to stop them driving it to you. London is only a six hour drive from Glasgow, and the train fare and fuel is only going to cost about £100. You get a full tank which should be enough to get you home anyway! And it's gppd running in!

I second that, plus also consider autoebid. You do pay up front but the saving can be considerable, plus all the bidders on your reverse auction ARE HONDA DEALERS themselves! You can even ask them to confirm this BEFORE accepting their bid.

autobytel

I used autobytel and paid deposit first week in August still waiting for car have now been told Dec 16. I believe Autobytel to be part of inchcape and am collecting my car from Inchcape Honda (southend on sea) long way from Manchester. They offered me free driven delivery, declined offer, going to get it myself. Car cost 17500 2.2 Type S GT with Sat Nav and hands free.

Brokers are great you get the same service as if you were buying from the garage itself. All a broker does is refer you to a garage we got our 2.2 EX in black for 17000

type s price 2.2

got mine on saturday .

pre-registered from arnold clark kilmarnock
invoice price just under 14,500 but they do adj down the trade in to suit.
the sticker price when i went to see it was 14,988 plus metalic paint -
don't know why dealers have to add metalic paint - its already on the car

no choice of colour.

orginally went to see a sport but didn't want silver or champagne so got
a dark blue cts .

i thought i had not a bad deal lined up at phoenix for a 18 month old
sport in silver - wife said no to silver - but for £650 more got the
cts

I went to my local dealer and test drove the 1.8 EX and then emailed them my required price and said do you want to do the deal? Had 5 emails back saying cant do it ect... but held out and got the deal done at my price (£15420) unregistered on the road. The trick is to leave them to make the deal, contact them at the end of the month or preferably at the end of the sales quater last few days of the month and when they may need to register cars to hit the honda sales targets and tell them you are ready to sign on the dotted line today , they will want to register the car right by the end of the month. Its cheaper for them to sell a car at zero profit than to pre-register it or put another demonstrater on the road and lose money on that. Good luck!!

Talking

Dont have any worries about drive the deal, all they do is phone up all the dealers and get the cheapest price for you, I used them to get my type r, managed to save over £1000 with them. Took the sleazy jet down to London for all of £30 and drove home, great way to get to know your car ! Bit scary with massive lorry's around your new pride and joy, but deffo cheaper than getting fibbed of by local dealers.
