Drive a 2.2 first. Its likely to hold its value better especially in the current climate of rising fuel prices. Apart from that you deserve a reprieve from constantly having to visit petrol stations after having an RX8. I'm averaging 42 in the town! Mind you the 1.8 is hardly a guzzler.
The deal you have been offered does not seem like a good one to me |

Glos chap, have you driven the diesel, I think you would be pleasantly surprised and for the money you're talking it's within budget, assuming you have a budget to stick to that is

I don't miss the engine flooding and starting problems checking the oil every 500 miles and toping up every 1000 miles, How ever the Type R is not as fast as the Rex on the straight or as good in the corners! I would probably say that the R is about 80 percent as good as Rex! I don't regret buying my R it is great fun to drive that V-TEC howl at about 6500 revs is incredible! also it is very practical and if it is like most Honda's it should be very reliable! All i would say is think long and hard about buying a Type S 1.8 V-tec, i have nothing against that particular model but if the Type R is 80 percent of an RX8 then the Type S would be lower than 80 percent To all Type S owners please don`t take offence to this post this is just my opinion as somone who owns a Type R and owned a RX8 |

I got 11000 for my RX8(230) back in September it was a 2004 04 in black with leather
i think 11000 is not a bad trade in price. |
