Spoilers sills and spliters...

Bit of a general mop up here, so might end up merging a few threads into it, and put it into the Wiki at some point

1) It is possible to fit the skirts of a 3dr Civ onto a 5dr. The difficulties are that you need to replace all the bits, and there is a gap between the side skirts and the body at the back, but this can't be seen with the doors closed, and can be filled.

2) the bits of a Type S and a Type R are completely inter-changable! This means that you can easily fit the gorgious upgraded R front splitter onto your Type S!

3) the R boot lid spoiler will fit onto any Civic - but you need to glue it on... On the R it is held on with a number of bolts and brackets, which can't be used on the rest of the range (short of replacing the entire boot lid)

4) the 2 tone upgraded R front splitter can be had in a number of colour combos - mainly 'colour + black'. HOWEVER - it is possible to get it all in one colour (eg completly red with no black bits). So be very careful which one you order

That's it for now until the rest of the details sink in

Especially (hopefully) for the Type S owners - the R bits really are just a direct replacement

Not that I'm jealous or anything...

Thanks TTDegs. I was actually referring to this type of front skirt shown on this pic, hope you don't mind me using it. Does this fit a standard 1.8?
Thanks for your help guys

Unfortunately, no

Or yes, but with more work

In the images below, we have the standard 5 door, then 2 pics of an R.

Where the arrows are, are where the various bits of trim meet each other.

On the 5 door, the trim goes inwards, whereas on the R (and the S), it flares outwards.

So if you just replace the front splitter from an R (or S) onto a 5 door, where it meets the front wheel arch - it won't meet.
So you replace the wheel arch too
But then it doesn't meet the side skirt properly
etc etc etc, until you have replaced them all

This topic has probably been flogged elswhere on this forum. So forgive me for this question. What you're saying TTDegs is that in order to get the 3dr splitters to fit the 5dr, all 4 wheel arches and both side skirts need to be replaced? When you say wheel arches, I assume they're the plastic bits of trim that aren't colour coded on non type-Rs. Anyone have an idea how much the entire package (wheel arches, skirts, and splitters) would cost? Non-colour coded that is.

Thanks for all the great info guys.
