Quite interested in this as I was just looking into short shifters yesterday.

So does need any modifying or filing to work or just fits straight in and works?

Cheers

You'll still have issues with clearance, so filing the plastic is still required.

Use the dremel of file to remove plastic.
Movement push (1,3,5) and pull (2,4,6/R) must be free

Could somebody posy a video of which parts need filing? Or if it's on those pics, circle the areas? I van see some that have been filed. Not sure if I'm missing any!

You must remove this plastic as can as you need.
After when you put short shifer, check the movement.

I have a question. Do you also provide the metal rings that go under the gear stick mount like the japspeed shortshifter provides?

Metal rings are not included. I think they are unnecessary.
I sold more than 200 pieces short shifter without rings.

Friday is despatch day, so I reckon I'll take one.

I like the fact that you've tweaked the product a little here and there. I like to tinker too

PM on it's way.

Hi.
Can I ask how clamping is made onto the existing shifter arm? I previously had one of the other type kits that are a slip sleeve and a bolt that squeezes down on the shaft. After less than a year the ball snapped off the shifter arm and I was forced to buy an entire new shifter assembly. This does look a better design but I'm just concerned about it causing the same issue. Does it spread the load up the shaft and not concentrate it all on the existing ball?

My short shifter's have two threaded holes.
It's very well hold it in place
Look for a picture - you can see the place clamping under the ball of existing arm shifter.
It not happened yet someone to come loose or break shifter.

Am I right in saying that the part of the sleeve marked out in the red box below is a snug fit over the flat part of the shifter arm I.e. is taking a portion of the load with the grub screws just there to prevent it sliding off?

I'm just worried I will end up with the same scenario as last time, picture attached.
