yellow tint fog light covers

ive been asked by a few members if i can do these in a yellow tint. well ive done abit of searching and ive found some yellow tint perspex and ive ordered some. I will make 4 sets and will see how they go. The material is more expensive than the clear i already use, but for the 1st batch i will keep them at £25 inc delivery and i will see how it goes from there.

i will post some pics when they are done.

A blue tint would be illegal in the uk.

Add to that the fact that blue/white light will not penetrate fog as well as yellow will.
Having them on when visibility is NOT reduced by mist/fog is, I'm sure you know, illegal

Yup, i sure do buddy. But don't HID's give off a blue tint ?? If the tint in the perspex was light enough they would match the HID's even tho they were NOT switched on..... (just like the yellow tint would show without being switched on)

cheers

The yellow tint will be better than replacement/ matched blue ones in cutting through the fog

Exactly!!
I've had my fog lights on once since June 2007...so why bother changing the bulbs??
However, to cut through any fog, as unlikely as they are needed in anger, so to speak, the yellow covers would work better

You can only have White, yellow or Amber lights on the front. Any other colours would be for off road use only.

a light blue perspex would make an amber light more white like those xenon-like bulbs however, i keep myself interested in the yellow one!

Isn't it just illegal to have a light pattern in the front, other than white, yellow or amber?
I don't really know if the cover of the lense makes the difference? Because with a blue cover, the light will just be slightly more white! (You can compare it to Philips Bluevision etc)...

Not that I want to spoil Gers' fun, but if you're after Yellow \ Amber fog lights, then changing the bulbs would probably give a more esthetically pleasing result ...
