I'm a big fan of this mod ...
Parked outside my local Dealer a week or two ago, to collect a small piece of replacement internal trim, that I had ordered ... Another, near identical (Galaxy Grey Executive, but 2009+ model) Civic pulled up beside me, just as I was getting out ... I closed the door and pressed the keyfob lock button, and the door mirrors flashed and folded in ... The other driver hurried over to me and said "they fold in automatically ?" - I kept a straight face and said "yes, they all do that, don't yours ?" ... I went in and collected my part from the parts desk, and left while he was engaged in a 'vigorous' discussion with the service department, about the malfunction \ flaw in his car, which he demanded be fixed a.s.a.p., under warranty ... Still, I kept a straight face, got in the car and drove off ! |

Hi Steve,
I'm getting prepared to (hopefully) fit the module before going to Poland; and getting all the stuff together for the fitting; do you know what the diameters of the wiring is? I'm planning on soldering and using heatshrink which comes in a variety of thicknesses; I'm inclined to go for something which is 2.5/3mm shrinking to 1.5/2mm; what do you think? Cheers Dave |

Ok so after having a few problems and finally getting round to fixing them mrbozo asked me to do a quick write up on these problems in case anyone else gets these issues.
The first issue was that the wing mirrors would unfold when you turned on the ignition rather than when you unlock the car. This issue was caused by the diode being on the wrong way round and you need to do here is to make sure that the grey shoulder is facing the plug in the car rather than facing the wing mirror module. The second issue was that there was a problem which made the car re-lock itself as soon as you pressed unlock on the remote. This was caused by one of the wires coming loose. This wire was one of the ones which you have to split and then put both of these ends into one connection port. The trick I found here was to twist the wires together with pliers rather than by hand as this gave a much stronger connection. Since this there have been no issues and I hope that this quick write up can help anyone that is suffering with similar issues. |
