Rear Window Tint

Well, I've had the car four days (and been part of this forum about a week) and I've already caused a war at home for stripping her down to the shell to fit sound proofing from the top of the bulkhead all the way into the boot (will post a full guide soon) , fitted a Nokia car kit (another post soon) and a Dension kit (thank you to all who helped on this forum with the "how to" guides). I'm also waiting to booked her in at Celtic (if they ever call me back) and today I got her tinted.

Storm Window Tinting
Storm Tinting in Newbury did an EXCELLANT job and they've tinted the lexan rear window. Due to the lipped edge of the window and the fact you can't cut against it or heat gun the film over the curve, it's not perfect (there is a 1mm gap around the film as he had to free cut it) and I like perfection. Has anyone else had this window done? I note loads of tinters leave it but I'm not sure that's good enough.

Apparently it can be if the 'tinter' is trained to work with perspex and acrylics.

Take a look, Tints on a NHB - YAY or NAY?

Sorry, didn't realise "LEXAN" was the plastic bit

I thought it was just "THE PLASTIC BIT"

Tut tut Craig! Now I hope they made you sign a disclaimer as what you've got is against the Law!

The Law States that you can have it as dark as you want in the back, but you must let a minimum of 70% light through. There is already a slight tint to the glass so you may well be well over the legal limit. So hopefully you don't get pulled as I believe that L&B police are cracking down like a lot of other forces

the 35% includes the standard tint - have been pulled by police and it has been tested and i got away with it they are allowed a tolerence level and it comes down to their own discretion
