NHB rules,ok!

I feel sorry for you guys that don't have NHB. Any other colour just doesn't give the same reflection after a going over with Meguiars Quik Wax followed by Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer. The first photo is taken from the front of the car looking down at the bonnet.

It looks fantastic. But this colour has a main disadvantage...
It looks clean only in photo's. I am sure that a ...few minutes later the car is dirty again.
I always enjoy these minutes!

It's not as dry hot and sunny over here (unfortunately) as it is in your beautiful country, and with the rain and muck off the road it's difficult to distinguish any colour after a run up the motorway!! I'll see how it is on Wednesday after a 240 mile round trip to Rayleigh!!

But you're right, it does need a lot of TLC. That Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer is good though.

Wow..good one.. that does look rather shiney..and yes NHB looks fantastic when just been cleaned, but it is hard to keep it looking good, but the fantastic shape of our cars just makes you wanna do it..It was always going to be NHB for me....Mine does look pretty shiney but the swirl marks in it are driving me MAD, I bought it 4 months old and saved over £2.000 on the list price but it must have been either washed or polished wrongly. I am just about to use some Meguiars scratch X on it but was told I should get it done by the specialists using power polishers, got a price of £100..Is it safe to do it this way with the soft paint issue???

Ah, Burton Dasset hills...haven't been there for about 18 months. I'll put it on my visit list for this summer. Can you recommend any good watering holes?

Think I'd try the Meguiars Scratch X first; then talk to your Honda dealer if you're not happy with the results. You never know, you could get a great result.

Ps: I think the paint is OK; it's the clear lacquer top coat that's the problem!! Two more coats would probably have helped!!

Know what you mean re. the swirl marks - really show up in the sun we've been having recently! Likewise, driving me insane - I'm getting mine detailed in a few weeks and having it all professionally polished. Then I can start with a fresh canvas as it were and clean it more carefully from now on! I use Scratch X too, seems to work well (doesn't get rid of, but makes scratches far less noticable), However, lot of work to cover the entire car in this stuff...

I've had no swirl marks at all using Meguiars Quik Wax and Ultimate Quik Detailer. I did have her coated with Supagard from new though and I always wash with a soft hose brush and running water. Never use a car wash or one of those 'hand jobbies' - I've seen too many dropped leathers that are picked up and used without rinsing through!!

Thanks I will try the Scratch X on 1 or 2 panels and see how it goes first, but this method is going to take forever as the whole car needs doing. Also would I have to give it more than one coat Of Scratch X, it is pretty bad. I wonder would speaking to the dealer after having the car for 4 months do any good. Im thinking he could say its my fault and why diddint I point it out at the start.

Sorry, I meant speak to your dealer to ask his advice. They may have a guy they use who understands about working on the Civic.

Yes... Nice when clean, but a pain in the backside to keep clean. I also suspect that NHB shows up the scratches more than some other colours due to the higher contrast between primer coat and top coat. My NHB Civic now seems to have as many scratches on it after 9 weeks than the previous Toyota had on it in 9 years. Still... I wouldn't swap back though. Your NHB Civic looks excellent by the way.

Oh yes,
Jump on the B4100 and head north towards Leamington/Warwick,go past Heritage Motor Centre and then past Aston Martin this will take you through Lighthorne Heath to a crossroads, turn left into Lighthorne village(after about half a mile) down and up a dip then you should see the Antelope Inn on the left.
Very good country pub
