I am converting my 5D gearstick with Type R parts. I am really beginner with these parts, so I need to ask HOW I take off original 5D gear knob from the gearstick?

Type R stick parts cost me 239 euros. I discovered I need to get some part of dash off to install them. It is good Pottsy have posted the "[HOW TO] Get into the dash" thread.

Thinking that gaiter with Silver stitching will look good on my Type S, seems too cheap to me for some reason, bad quality? What does everyone else reckon?
