Nice and easy - Got an Audi TT Gaiter off eBay for about 14 quid. The actual lower gear stick surround is a doddle to take off and comes off just using fingernails! Basically tuck in the gaiter underneath and reattach. Voila!

I was going to do the whole TypeR conversion until I saw the price so thought 'sod it!'. I'm glad I got the TT one now cos it finishes the car off nicely
