Clay/Wax advice on superguarded car please?

I've just got a silver EX. I opted to NOT have the superguard treatement and following advice from various threads on here, I ordered some clay magic, carlack 68 and collinte 476s. My plan was to go over the car using those 3 stages.

When I collected the car, the dealer had very kindly applied Superguard free of charge as they had half a pack left over from a previous treatment.

Now I'm wondering what to do. Carry on with my original plan - clay, carlack and collinite. Or wait until the superguard wears off (I don't think I can apply carlack over the top)? Or, maybe just collinite over the superguard? Or any other suggestion.

Whats your views please?

Dont use the clay or carlack but use the collinite over the superguard. You could of course wait 3 months for the superguard to wear off and then do it!!
Some dealerships think theyre doing you a favour!!
It really IS a rip off!!

I paid for the superguard....I'm a salesman's dream!!...but i have to say having used collinite for the first time last weekend and then driven around in all that rain yeasterday, that the collinite wins hands down. The superguard needs topping up and when i went to the tube last week it had turned to liquid!!

If you run your fingertips over the car with clingfilm between them and the paintwork, then if you feel any lumps and bumps, it will need clayed.
Don't know why you bought both Carlack and Collinite - the former is a sealant, the latter, whilst carnauba based, is sealant-like.
I feel you've jumped on the bandwagon, not knowing where it was going, and have done so in error.
Wax over sealant is typically because it is considered/held in belief that all sealants are sterile/clinically optically transparent, and the wax adds back a bit of warmth.
If that is the case, you're talking very fine nuance, as opposed to stark contrast.
Either stick with the Carlack, or the Collinite, but if you must ride the bandwagon, then at least change the Colly for some DoDo or Victoria Concourse (sp?).
I don't think the Colly will work over Carlack, as it's heavily solvent based, which means it could remove the Carlack, which then defeats the purpose, as well as wasted effort putting the Carlack on in the first place.

I originally ordered Meguires NXT. This was out of stock so cleanyourcar.com recommended the 2 stage treatment.

They do a kit of the carlack and collinite:

Collinite 476s and Winter Carlack Selant Kit

I just went with their advice and several other threads on here using the same processs.

So Why is it sold as a double pack at Cleanyourcar.co.uk??

How should I know?
Maybe ask Tim why he's done that?
Perhaps one's not selling as well as the other?
Numerous and various reasons - one of which could be I'm wrong, and the Colly plays nicely with the Carlack. Wouldn't be the combo I'd have suggested, but hey ho.....

I think you need to look here for some advice:
A world for detailers...

I have and thousands of others, use a wax OVER a sealant.

Yes, robbo, I'm on there too (and elsewhere) offering and receiving advice, and I know there are a lot of people following the footsteps of others, but often without knowing why.
Bottom line, remember everyone is different, and not all will appreciate or even notice the fine nuance that carnauba wax over a sealant, supposedly gives.
Collinite isn't a typical carnauba wax, in the sense of DoDo Juice, Zymöl, Swissvax, and more, but is atypical, and that's why I have reservations about it over the top of a sealant.
Auto Balm is effectively a sealant, but Bilt Hamber positively recommend you DON'T put a wax over it, as the chemicals acting as the carnauba carrier will, in all likelihood, remove the Balm.
So not all things are equal, and can just be applied willy nilly with the same outcome.
