Seal or wax?
I've now had my car a few days and it's getting flithly already!
I want seal it to protect the paint work as I thought the diamond bright was a waste of money, So should I use a Sealant or Wax? I've been looking at Carlack or Collinite 845. Are either any good? should I be looking at something else? Anybody used Victoria Wax? So many questions! |

I used Klasse All-in-one to prepare, Klasse Sealant then Victoria Wax Yellow Collectors edition. Very nice too. But robbo and others have convinced me that my next wax should be the Collinite.

Best to use a sealant then wax
This stuff does the job nicely Collinite 476s and Winter Carlack Selant Kit Or Collinite 915 & Carlack Kit The 915 gives the better shine out of the two kits but either is very very good and the delivery is very quick also. Look here for more proof Waxing with Collinite |

Time for a reality check - you do not need to apply a wax over a sealant. This is another bandwagon people who are none the wiser jump on without thought, just like the snow foam and eleventy other shampoos in some sort of weird and wonderful concoction - as if they were following a recipe.
The premise that all sealants are inherently too optically perfect and clinical/sterile in appearance, that a wax needs to be applied over them to bring back an element of warmth/wetness, is utter bunkum. Bottom line, the difference will be miniscule and virtually unnoticeable. By all means use a glaze under a wax (except Collinite) for wetness, but not a sealant. If you want the best of both, then Collinite or Bilt Hamber Auto Balm will do the job. If you want to dabble in waxes, then Lime Prime Lite (due in a couple of weeks) and Victoria Concours will be very nice, but don't overlook Dodo's own waxes to partner with their LP Lite. At the end of the day, the LSP (last stage protection) will only enhance the prep done on the paintwork, although the Auto Balm will mask quite a range of 'sins', if you don't have a polisher and compounds, etc. |

If that's what you want to do. I've suggested a few scenarios, and it's up to you if you follow the 'trend' by going with Collinite too, or plum for something different such as a pure wax, and glaze (Dodo, Vics, etc), or a sealant like Carlack, Zaino, Auto Balm, etc.
