Would it not be easier to get a vinyl cut to the size and shape of the entire centre brake light in black and apply it to the outside of the light so only CIVIC or any other word appears when the brake is applied??

Quick photoshop job here

Bottom pic with illumination

I will make one of these and post pictures for real and see what you all think.

Hi,

I'm glad that most of you like my stickers.

I think it wouldn't be easier because my solution is more legal I think my brake light cover is only as long as needed, so it doesn't cover the whole third brake light. Like you showed in Photoshop would be a bit better, but I don't know for shure if that is still leagel.

Or you show me a better font?!
Great idea, i've seen these on a few cars now. The font needs to be lowercase to make the civinfo.com stickers to look good.

The third brake light is not required for an MOT i have a similar sticker on my parents Seat Leon and it has sailed through MOTs and i have never had trouble with police while driving it.

Here are examples of designs possible for large brake light covers.

I don't know how it is in England exactly, so if you say it's legal it may be possible. I just know that i Germany the police will say that you transformed your third brake light and don't have mentioned it in your papers.

Your examples are very nice but I do also offer it with TYPE S and TYPE R on it. And for example with a font which someone likes to have on. The major problem is the film and the cutting out of the letters.

How did you get your panel off as I can`t work out which way to prise it off without snapping the clips

It is hard to prise off, but don't worry the clips are strong. If any of the white ones are still by the brake like when you get the panel off, just get a flat blade screwdriver and prise them out and slide them back into the panel (you'll see what i mean). I'll put a "How To" the the wiki file in a bit

Thanks guys all done I did`nt realise that it was poppers holding the panel I thought they were the clips that are a bit fragile used on the other panels.
