Collinite 476S photo

All,

I recently tried Collinite 476S on the civic. Its a strange wax, when I got it I thought someone had given me a "candle in a tin" craft fair type thing. Its a very hard wax and needs to be worked a bit to get it going, once you get the knack of it though it goes on and off like just as quickly as a normal wax.

In this photo I clayed and collinite'd the door, everything else just has "wax it wet" on it. Visually there isn't much of a difference, as my car is still quite new, however the door feels much more slippery and smooth (probably down to clay AND the wax).

Yellow duster is my waxing cloth, for contrast purposes and not some bizarre apron I was wearing.

Collinite is a great wax.

Robbo51 introduced me to it and I must say I am very impressed with it. I use the Collinite 915.

Very pleased with the results.

Yes, that is lovely. I can't help wishing I'd got the Type R. Sigh.

If its not raining in the morning I'll do the other panels.

I topped up my collinite 476 wax protection yesterday - it looks great

I seem to remember being told the 476 protection lasted longer than the 915, to offset the slightly inferior shine.

Thanks all for the advice. So to sum up - go for the 915 for the best shine and the 476s for durability.

Ideally how often should you use it?

Which one of the 2 waxes is better? I'm asking this because my Type-R is black and I live in Greece, meaning that we have a very very strong sunlight here and it gets hotter that hell here in the summer. so I want something that will really protect the color. Durability and shine is what I'm looking for. Should I get the 476 or the 915?

476 has the longevity, but 915 has more in appearance dept.
Trade off, so depends on which is more important to you.

I got some 476 recently and waxed the whole car. The first time you rinse the car off after waxing is just amazing, the water just runs straight off.

Now I make sure I wax one panel after every wash, just to keep it topped up.
