I find it does leave a white residue. As robbo said, probably down to using too much at the one time. I have found that if its a particulary hot day, it can flake too.

I have just bought Collinite 915. Cant wait to get a dry day to apply....

This is essential. First time I used it like any other wax I've had and I got the white dust. Second time I did small parts at a time. Didn't even put the tin down before I was buffing. Result was no white residue at all. And a much better shine too.

For example, I used to wax the whole bonnet before I started buffing, sometimes even more panels. You can't do that with Collinite. Now I would do the bonnet in six separate sections. Takes no longer. In fact it's a bit quicker 'cos it's so easy to buff the 915 off before it dries.

And you have to wait 'til it's out of the sun. Especially with NHB. That bodywork gets really hot in sunlight.

God, I'm starting to sound like a boring, self-styled expert. Somebody slap me quick!!

But a few of us are rather obsessed at cleaning our cars.

Well keep the car as clean as you can as a fully charged battery doesn't last long! And he didn't buy you the Pink one? Thats the one i've got with the Pink instead of the yellow. Great suction on it tho

This group is scary, but I've deffo found my home! I have the pink one too. That was the only colour in stock when I got it

You're right about the charge though Angie. Just 4 mins or so (I thought it was only men that enjoyed the great suction though! Ooooer missus!)

Still, when the neighbours are dragging their hoovers out and messing with power cords I can just stoll out with my space-age handheld and have the job done in 4 mins. Of course only I know why I'm finished in 4 mins.

At least it only takes a few hours (!!) to charge up for another four mins

And I'm not asking for any more slaps. People were far too quick to comply (cheers robbo and psykik!). I might start enjoying it toooo much

Hi all

Can't stop reading this forum - Mrs thinks I've gone mad - I'm not even going to be the driver of our Civic!!

That collinite product looks like it produces a fantastic result - got to get me some - can you only get it from the US or are there UK stockists?

Thanks

Don't worry my wife thinks the same about me too.

Here you go, Collinite 915 Marque D'Elegance Premium Auto Wax , although it does work out cheaper getting it from the US if you can wait.

Its £100 for the one in the pic, the pink one and the animal are £120. The animal has a rotating brush head. You can get them anywhere you find dyson hoovers, argos, currys, comet etc. But it does only last 4/5 mins with a full charge, but it has a great suction

Thanks DR
When drivers refer to '3 coats applied' etc do they mean 3 coats applied one after the other (all applied in the same day??) - surely not? That would be madness!

Unfortunately they do, leaving about an hour between coats.

Better put a whole day aside for it.

3 coats of wax in a day - not sure my arms would be up to that!
Neighbours must be wetting themselves laughing behind their curtains!

It is really easy to apply and buff off, so it's not as bad as it sounds.

But obviously you can apply it over three weekends to get maximum effect/protection.
