Collinite - before and after

A while back someone asked for shots of a Civic before and after some of the legendary Collinite had been applied. Well, I got my tins a week ago and took a shot this evening after I finished cleaning and waxing.

Sorry that neither shot is first rate, camera phone efforts, and taken at different times of day. The 'after' shot was taken when it was getting quite dim, and you can see some red sky reflected in the bodywork.

But the difference is pretty noticeable I reckon. Must say the 915 is the best wax I have used to date. After two efforts I reckon I've mastered it. The trick is to apply a thin coat on quite a small area (couple of square feet max) and immediately get shining. If you leave it too long or apply to a bigger area the results are not as impressive. But if you do it straight away it's really easy to work with.

It definitely gives a much deeper shine to NHB than I got from Meguiars or Autoglym (both used in the before shot).

I'm hooked.

Before on left and after on right.

Thanks for introducing me to my fave new wax guys!!

Crikey! I asked for some collinite 476 i believe from santa claus but he delivered meguiars NXT wax instead. I've still not quite mastered that stuff thanks to this bloomin british weather! May have to invest in some collinite soon though...

Have you done any pre-treatment before applying collinite? What about windows. They seem to be shiny too..

Its looking good. How many layers have you applied. I find its at its best with 3 coats applied and buffed up about an hour apart.
If you dont have the time, apply a little water in a spray and dry off before applying another coat.
This 'cures' each layer.

Thanks for the tip Robbo. Will try that next time.

It got two coats.

gm, no pre-treatment this time, but I used Meguiars polish not so long ago. And, yes, the windows are shiny too. I put some Rain-X on them (and the glass roof). Well spotted!

Of course, this is the path to madness. You start to notice every little smear or blemish. This morning at 7am I was giving it a light wipe with a microfibre to remove overnight dust before heading off to work! At least I didn't use a feather duster, that would give the neighbours a right laugh (they've been too polite to comment on the new obsession so far).

Looks great. I agree, 915 is the best wax I've used too.

If you mean the differences between the different Collinite waxes, have a read.

You can get it from here: Collinite 915 Marque D'Elegance Premium Auto Wax

Myself and a few others on here got it from the US from a seller through ebay. It is cheaper and he offers a great service. He'll ship two tins for the same shipping cost, that's what I did.

OK. Since no collinite represenative in cyprus the only way through is ebay and i am planning to purcahse it as soon as my account have some money. But before applying collinity I would like to remove some micro swirls so as to have a perfect finish. Which products should be used in order to clean the paint before polishing and waxing?
