Washed, Polished, Waxed....Now what ?

I will keep this a brief as possible...

I have hand washed the car twice in 2 weeks, I think I have done a pretty good job.

Method used:-

Water wash/Rinse (2 bucket) using Meguiars wash mit.

Soap wash (2 bucket) with Meguiars NXT car wash + wash mit.

Water wash/Rinse (2 bucket) followed by Meguiars water magnet to dry.

Polish with Autoglym super resin polish - Applied with pad and removed with micro fibre cloth.

Wax with Dodo juice light fantastic - Applied with pad and removed with micro fibre cloth.

This gave a very good shine with zero water marks, swirls etc. The following week I gave it another wash/rinse/NXT and then a dry with the magnet. I gave it another layer of Dodo juice and have left it at that, so far.

Now what next ?

Is it safe to SRP on top of the Dodo juice ?
Do I just keep cleaning and adding Dodo Juice ?

Any advice welcome.

ps/ I know there are many different opinions on which makes/brands to use , so if you have any suggestions on a brand change let me know.

You only need to wax it when the water no longer beads on it.
I wax every 6 to 8 weeks, but thats because I use Collinite.
I'm not an expert on dodo Juice.
You cant really put too much on.
Collinite is the best and most durable wax I've tried for the price

Don't use SRP as it cuts into the paint, it is best for covering swirls and scratches.

Its fairly soft (well the light fantastic is), very easy to apply with a pad and very easy to buff off with a micro fibre cloth.

It gives pretty good shine even on a champagne silver EX

Ah, maybe thats why I dont have any swirls or scratches after getting it off the stealer.

Now I have a layer of wax then... do i ever need to polish again ?

or is polish just an alternative to a wax?

Was a polish followed by a wax a bit OTT ?

Far too many questions, sorry.

AG SRP is fine for using as an AIO (all in one) - since it is abrasive, has fillers, and is a sealant.
Now, if you have some swirls or light scratches, it's perfectly fine to use by hand or machine to polish them out.
Only a select few sealants work over wax - Duragloss Aquawax, Bilt Hamber Auto Balm, and Zaino Z-8 are three of them.
If you want some extra shine off the paintwork, use one of those over the Dodo Juice, and you could also add Dodo Lime Prime Lite to give the paint a bit of extra depth/wetness, although BH AB will do that more or less on its own.
The other two will enhance the shine.
That said though, AB and the other two sealants will cause the flake to pop more without the wax, which has a tendency to mutt the flake a touch.

A few ideas for you to play around with - especially when you can use AB on chrome, black plastic, wheels, glass.
It truly is a remarkable product - and one of the main reasons I recommend it.

Well its all about maintaining the shine, i use Megs final touc hbetween waxing. Ispray it on when your drying the car, it also helps stop swirl marks when drying.

Just drive it and show the surfer dudes that there is better transport than an air cooled Vee Dub.

Beading is not really a good indicator of how good wax protection is. After a good couple of coats of colly mine will bead nicely. However after a couple of days dust will settle on the car, which will stop the beading occuring as good as it was. Of course this is not because of the wax is loosing its effectiveness, its just that the water is being absorbed into the dust. The best indicator to show the effectiveness of wax on the car is to watch how well the water sheets off the paintwork when rinsing the car from a wash. Simple as that!
