Question VentureShield paintwork protection.....Anyone used it?

Has anyone used a product called VentureShield by a company called Invisible Patterns

I saw an ad in the Auto Express this week and had a look at their site.
It is a clear type of film that is applied over the vulnerable areas of the bodywork to protect against stone chips. They claim it is invisible when applied and guaranteed not to crack or discolour.

I have checked and they do a kit for the Civic
Invisible Patterns

As many of you will agree, Civics are prone to stone chips!
My car is 3 months old with 2500 miles on the clock and already I have a couple of them on the leading edge of the bonnet and bumper, so I would probably pay a couple of hundred quid to keep it looking like it is now before it's too late.

Have any of you guys had any experience with this product or any others like it??......And would you recommend it

A search for Venture Shield turns up a number of hits including:

http://www.civinfo.com/forum/cleanin...uch-worth.html

Anyone tried ventursheild or similar products?

Looks like a few have at least been thinking about it.
Would be good to get a real long-term review.

There is also this in the Wiki:
Stop the Chips (front area of car) - Civinfo Wiki

Hope some of this helps.

I believe you can wax over it as thats whats recommended so that you can't see or reduce the visable like where the film is applied especially when it doesn't cover a whole section.

Sorry to burst your bubble but this is the kit that has been used by most companies that provide this for a good year or so. Some companies even offer to do the back wheel arches and sills.

The idea is that you don't , itv defeats the object , just wash it with the shampoo supplied and dry off

What are you on about? The waxing bit? They actually do recommed that you do wax so you reduce the visability of the lines where it has been applied.

Also it stops the stuff from becoming discoloured - which on some cars is more visable than others. I saw a X5 with this applied - could clearly see the joins and it looked like it had been on 40 a day - it was that yellow
