New R222 100% Carnuba Wax

Hey All,

My friend just found this :

R222 100% Carnauba Paste Wax

Has anyone used it perhaps?

I've had a look on Cleanyourcar, who I recently brought my Collinite from and it's not listed on there.

Oh no; not another one...I haven't received the Bilt-Hamber wax yet to try.

How much wax can a car take? !

This wax has been around a long time.
No better than Collinite and much more expensive
Very misleading stating 100% Carnauba.
Its around 30-40% carnauba wax.

No this is new you are thinking of this which I agree has been around for a long time R222 'Concours Look' Carnauba Wax

The 100% version is a new product and only been around for a few months gets a good rep but questions over durability have yet to be answered certainly not going to give Collinite any problems. All the 100% means is that out of all the wax content in this stuff it is 100% Carnauba there will be of course other ingredients so it's very clever marketing as well as slightly misleading

For what it costs you cant beat Collinite

There are better waxes out there but they can cost much much more

Collinite 476

The guy in America is now doing up to 3 tins at $13.50 each for total postage of $12 (£ conversion = 3 x6.85 + 6.09 = £26.64), Thats less than half the UK price

eBay Motors: *Collinite #476S Detergent Proof Auto Wax FACTORY FRESH (item 200229087876 end time Jun-10-08 12:15:09 PDT)

I bought 1 tin several months ago and reckon it should last at least 1 year more.

Brilliant stuff -its easy to apply and lasts ages between applications

2 Tins will last you ages as each layer you apply needs to be thin

I can see where you are coming from at these prices though wish I had seen them when I bought mine months ago

I reckon it would easily last that long, based on my experience to date. I've probably put about 5-6 coats in the past 3 weeks (will leave it a while now - honest! ) and I'd say there's maybe 1/5 of a can gone max.

So you should easily get 48 layers and more out of two tins.

Hey All,

Ok, I gave in a brought some to try

All I can say is WOW! Goes on very easy and comes off easy to.
Car has had one coat of Collinite 476 and then 2 coats of this Carnuba R222 100%.
Unlike the Collinite when you buff the wax off there is no powder which saves a lot of time and extra effort.

My line of thinking is to use this wax more regular and use the Collinite to provide the longer lasting protection 2~3 times a year.

Not cheap @ £34 something delivered but worth having in the cleaning kit.

LOL, yeah. Thought it was shining so well I had to show it off a bit

Really am impressed with the wax though, the ease of which it was to work with makes it worth the investment to me.

All I need now is a sound system like your buddy
