Bonnet Scrath Marks

Hi,

A friend, the owner of a Black Nighthawk had it washed by a carwashing service and now has a bonnet covered in cloth marks. in the sunlight it looks like they have used a brillo pad but it is not that obvious in other lights. What can rectify it? T Cut? If so which one? I have a black one too and am very worried that it will happen to me too!

Check this thread out: Bilt-Hamber Auto Balm

The link goes straight to post 46, but have a read of the whole thread.

I have bought some but not tried it yet, several members in this thread have though and are very impressed.

Bilt hamber Auto balm is apparently good for amateurs like us, but a professional polisher (as in professional person) should be able to rectify it permanently with a decent orbital and the right pads.

Thats very true Tom.
But I would polish the car with Auto-Glym Super Resin Polish first, a couple or 3 coats of Collinite (476s or 915) and then use Bilt-Hamber Auto Balm as a sealer.
It will look as good as new.

I'm gonna try the balm as a sealer as soon as I've finished applying my collinite, so far I've got about 3 extra inches on my paint thickness

Sorry Rob, but you're suggesting far too much in product and time.
All it needs is either:
1) AB on its own
2) SRP'd to remove some of the lighter scratches, then AB
3) SRP'd, then Collinite

This notion of AB over Colly has came about due to some members having Collinite already on their car, and now want what they see AB being able to do.
AB has more filler than SRP, better durability than it and Collinite, and gives a bit more to the looks.
So, in the absence of having all 3 products, the OP need only bother with buying and using any 2, and even then 1 can be dispensed with if they aren't interested in removing the swirls/scratches.

Of course, everyone's free to do whatever they like, but there comes a time when common sense takes precedence over daftness.

I think another reason to wash the car yourself ?

If they've dropped the chamois on the floor and not rinsed it they could be scouring dirt into the paint.
