Stone Chips / Swirls Recommendation?

Hi all,

As with pretty much all new Civics I've seem mine is also gathering a few stone chips and swirls on the paint (NHB).
I was hoping to get the stone chips repaired (4 or 5 of them all together on the wings) and the swirls 'buffed/polished' out if possible to give it a brand new look again.
Can anyone recommend anywhere i could get this done properly for a reasonable price?

I'm in the Manchester area so somewhere not too far away would be good.

thanks in advance,
Mark.

Hi Rich,
thanks!

Do chips away buff out swirls and minor scratches too or just the paint chips? Wasn't sure because they come to you don't they?

thanks again,
Mark.

Most will do quite a bit, like buffing out scratches and even alloy wheel repair etc. etc. etc. so you can but ask the guy....

Hi Guys

I picked up a Red Civic EX as a company car last friday and have now covered 1100 miles with a total od 17 stone chips on the bonnet and wings and one on the roof!! With an estimated mileage of 90,000mls in 3 years My Civic may turn from Red to white at the front!!! If I had bought this car I would definitley be taking it back. We have a feet of 13 red ones and 2 black ones and they are all in pretty much the same shape, great car, shame about the paint!!

Thanks for your help.

I phoned the bloke and he said for scratched pannels best thing is to respray them, however for stone chips he said they can't do them at the minute because they've had to switch to water based paint instead of solvent based, which isn't up to the job unfortunately - anyone know of anywhere else that might be able to help?

I think thats BS tbh, as Honda paintwork is water and you can't use solvent based paint on it or it'll react IIRC.

You are being told Porkies mark.
Solvent based paint went out of the window in the 90's, after the save the planet meeting in Rio.
Of course they can repair stone chips on water based paintwork.
