Honestly I am not a hater, if my last 2 cars were not black and milano red respectivly no doubt I would have chosen red or black for my "R", they both look fantastic and I have to say Red probably just pips it although I'll probably see a black tomorrow and say that!

It's just red's do fade over time, even by the dealers admission, and sadly it makes no difference how often you clean, or wax as I have found out in the past after cleaning every week and waxing/sealing regularly.

Not saying you will definatly notice, but if you wait a while then put, say, an 06 Milano against an 08 you will notice. Plus there are tell tale signs where you find paint that hasn't been exposed to light so much, i.e door seals and boot etc.

Maybe this is why it is rumoured that Honda are scrapping milano all together next year in favour of the darker reds they had years ago.

Remember I like the colour, just not the quality, application or substance. I would reconsider if Honda produced (somehow) a red that didn't fade.

I think you may find that its because it chips and scratches so easily..rather than prone to fading that made their mind up to replace it....it is rumoured of course

As long as it does not fade in 3 years then I will be happy as that is how long I am keeping it for... not a day longer! I am sure I will be okay

Now shall we get this back on topic...??

Surely it chips no more easily than silver or black? the thickness measured in microns is the same across the colour palette isn't it?

If the thickness is the same for all colours then they will (or at least should) all chip the same. Stones can't see a colour

Cool... and how often do you use that mate? How does it compare to other wax's such as the Autoglym or Maguires stuff?

So I've been through loads of pages of debate over the merits of BH and Collonite and still can't decide.....

One question;

Will either of these help with those fine swirls/scratches I have on my NHB?

If it's been answered elsewhere my search fu has failed me again!

Only the BH Auto-balm contains fillers that will cover up the swirl marks in your paint, but both are durable LSP's.

I'm just wondering is BH and Collinite intended for use with a polishing machine or would elbow grease work.
I currently use all Maguires stuff ( Gold Class ) and am curious to know would these be better on Milano Red?

Smile To 'Sivad' ...

I haven't mentioned it before (although others have) - but - every time I read your 'signature slug' (see below), I get a fit of "the sniggers" ...

Not that I have the 'chips problem' myself (virtually un-marked after 10 months) - it's just that your line appeals so very much to my particular sense of humour ... 11 out of 10 ! ...

Not intended for, but you could use them with one, although I suspect neither would be done any quicker than by hand.
You could use the polisher to buff them with a soft pad or a microfibre bonnet over a pad.
