That is really over the top. I had the whole front and side sections of my elise done for £340. Try and call ventureshield direct. I'd be really surprised to see that prices have gone up that much.
I'm aware of a few people that have bought the ventureshield stuff to do themselves, have seen some terrible kits off ebay on elises so would suggest paying a bit more for a known kit. Having seen it done I would think it can be done as long as you spend the time to prep the areas properly. |

Halfords sell a Ventureshield kit for car bonnets (made by Ventureshield, branded Halfords), alongside their smart repair bits and pieces in store. I can't remember if it costs £25 or £40, whichever way, it's not going to break the bank.

The only ones I have seen get a line form along the edge, part way up the bonnet where the edge of the adhesive can gather crap. If the designed them so they had their edge on a seam or edge of a panel then that would get around the problem. I have heard tho that it is cos the width of the roll of film is not great enough to cover the whole bonnet.

it seems someone there paid 350 for full elise, but someone was qouted 500 for the civic front section, i reckon we could get it cheaper direct and make a how to, i wouldnt mind paying 300 for it, i reckon it would aid resale too

I think I'll stick with me chips!

Not worth it imo. For that money I am sure you could just get a respary, so may aswell let the chips gather for a year or so then get the front repainted.
My Uncle has that stuff on his year old silver Porsche and its going yellow! Looks worse than a few chips. |

I have Ventureshield on my black Toyota Prius and it's crap, really crap. It was £400 poorly spent. The film is dreadful quality (dots and blips in it), it scratches like buggery and it does get punctured from chips. And, yes, it was fitted by Ventureshield. I'm selling my car to Honda end of the month and the first thing they are doing is removing the film. I am really dissapointed with it and was expecting so much after reading the full page ads in EVO magazine every month.
