Wow....$6000 for a tub of wax.....that is crazy, but I would do it if I had the cash.

Has anyone else had this problem ?
Not me, although my powerwasher is not a really powerfull one, 110 PSI I think.

We have had our 1.8 SE just over a month now. I have polished the exterior with Autoglym, and the paintwork(nhb)looks great. However reading some of the horror stories related to the perspex dash, how's the best way to remove finger prints dust, etc without scratching the surface?

On another note, has anyone on here ever used Zaino? A couple buddies of mine use it and it is quite expensive, about $100 USD for the startup kit, but the shine is amazing. My buddy Zainoed his Taffeta White Civic about 3 months ago, and it STILL shines. All he does is a quick wash every weekend at a local spray car wash.
Yes Zaino is considered one of the best products on the market. As has been said before that is not the most expensive wax you can buy, nor is the $6000 dollar wax, try over £7000 for a Royal Special wax!!

TBH, these 1000 dollar/pound waxes are not noticeably better than the 100 dollar/pound waxes you can buy. The only difference is the type and purity of carnauba that they use.

I notice meguiars has been listed here quite a bit. TBH Meguiars isn't bad but people mainly buy it cause it's one of very few detailing products that actually market quite aggressively. The problem with Meguiars is that it's overpriced. It uses very little Carnauba wax to the point that it should really be called synthetic and therefore, it shouldn't cost as much as it does!!

Swissol (as mentioned earlier by degs) is very good and should definitly be considered along with Zymol as Carnauba based waxes.

For synthetic options I would look at Zaino and Klasse. These are two of the best.

I met Paul Dalton back in November, he came to my house to look at my civic paintwork and that of a friend who is having problems. He said if he could help in any way he would. Very nice man

Whatever you use to shine your car, when you are finished try Car Plan Nano as a final coat. It protects the work you have done and all it takes is a quick shampoo and the shine is back. I've being using it for about 2 months and it does what it says on the tin. I think it lasts 3 months. Cost is about 23 euro and you get about 2-4 applications per bottle. Its great so see the shine you put on your car months ago reapear with very little work.

Thanks for the mention again. Just like to make some suggestions regarding some of the issues raised in this thread:

For day to day cleaning of the dash I think the Armor all MATT dash wipes are brilliant. Not only do they do a great cleaning job, but they also are so much more convenient than a spray / clean / polish off approach. Just as any father (and mother) on here will testify to the indispensability of baby wipes when you have kids, so it is with these car wipes. They make keeping the dashboad free of dust so easy. The Gloss dash wipes are only for those people who really WANT a gloss finish - they leave me cold.

The Glass wipes are similarly good for keeping the inside of the windscreen grime free on a regular basis.

Some peeps have mentioned Rain-X: try the Comma RAIN CLEAR - much easier to apply thoroughly because it is a Gel, not a thin runnny liquid.

See my other recent post for a 10% discount on anything in the shop - and please call me if you want a group buy of anything or want me to stock some of these other products you have had good experiences with.

Thanks

Doug
