Cleaning the dash

I know that when cleaning the dash that care needs to be taken as not to scratch it. I was wondering if the brushes that are used for cleaning the sensors on DSLR cameras would be any good for this, my thoughts being that as they are designed not to scratch/damage the sensor on a camera they should not scratch the dash. Does any one have any thoughts or expeience on this?

Lens cleaning tissues should certainly be okay I think. Along those lines, I use one of the soft cloths designed for cleaning spectacle lenses. Works well!

I was thinking about using one of the sensor brushes prior to using an optical wipe cloth to clean the dash, as I think that this would remove any dust particles before wiping thus preventing any scratching.

Yes, certainly I don't think you'll have any difficulties with that approach. Or maybe use compressed air (i.e. from a keyboard cleaning kit) to blast away most of the dust first?

You have just reminded me that I could use my Rocket Blower that I use for blowing dust of my camera for this

I first get the dust off with those so-called anti-static brushes (they are sold like that but in fact they should be static so they can collect dust) and then with a soft cloth that does not leave any piles on the surface.

Trouble with compressed air or to a certain extent brushes, is that they put dust into the air - what goes up comes back down.
A very slightly damp lint free cloth such as a microfibre I find the best bet. The plastic on the top of the dash does have a tendency to grab at a cloth though - a sort of velcro effect.
Would have preferred Honda using a smoother finished dash top plastic.
