Uber-stone chip

Washed and polished the car last night, hats off to Meguiars Deep Crystal Shine the results are amazing. Used the 3 step clean, polish and wax jobby. Not the brightest idea I have ever had in 30 degree heat, but at least I was in the shade, there was a breeze and I could splash cool water on me.

Whilst drying the car I found the mother of all stone chips, I found it becasue the drying cloth (meguiars towelling thing) actually snagged on the body work, on closer inspection it turns out something has hit the nearside front wing and rather than just chipping the paint it has gone down to the metal and lifted a bit of metal back to create a burr, about the size of a large pin head, but enough to f**k me right off. Does anybody know what the wings are made of, ali or steel, might change the urgency with which I get it looked at.

And then (sorry this is turning into a rant), went out this morning and the neighbours bloody cats been dancing on the roof in the night, I thought I hd cracked the cat issue, not seen footprints for weeks since I shelled out £50 on a ultra-sonic pest repeller. The thing is though I think it parachuted on to the car, no footprints up or down from the car, unless it came over the fence and went back again when the zap got it. Ba****d thing.

Deep breath, and relax. Thank you for letting me get that out. But on a positive note, the car looks brilliant with the polish and wax, well worth the sweat for those 3 hours last night, although I would recommend getting in help, the polish and wax can be a right sod to get off if it has dried too long on the car, the best way is almost on with one hand and off with the other, but then where do you put the bottle?

just use the maguires spray wax as you spray it on and leave it for a bit then wax off
but if you are in a rush you can just buff it up once sprayed

Bought a bottle of the deep crystal shine now, nevermind, the wife seemed to enjoy it. Well when I say seemed to be enjoying it, when asked "you're not enjoying this are you?" she said she was fine. Good enough for me!
