Smile Special Offer on Rain Repellent (like Rain-X) and Tomtom One V2

With permission from the Administrator:

I wanted to draw your attention to some Comma products that you might find useful. I understand that with the Civic not having a rear wiper that rain repellent is quite useful to Civic Owners.

Comma make a range of glass treatments called ProVision. These include:

Glass Scrub: For very thoroughly cleaning the glass
Rain Clear: To coat the glass and make rain run off the glass very easily - rain repellent (like Rain-X)
Fog Clear: To treat the inside of windows to prevent misting (recently won BEST BUY in AutoEXPRESS)

These products are much easier to apply than things like Rain-X because they are a gel, and they come with a special application cloth included.

You can see more details and AutoEXPRESS review of Fog Clear on the Auto Best Buy Website at: http://www.autobestbuy.co.uk/shop/pr...ageHistory=cat

They can be bought individually or there is a special offer for all three. Remember you can get 10% off the price using the code: LJDNI55

For those of you without SatNav I also have a limited number of TomTom One V2 with free Maps of Western Europe for the normal retail price of the GB only version = £179.99. These are not on the site so you'll have to PM me if you are interested.

nice one Doug, many thanks!

any idea if it is ok to use on the small rear section underneath the spoiler?

I'll probably get some anyway, but having that bit clear too would be a bonus

The instructions specifiy that it should not be used on transparent plastics, only on windows.

It isn't something I stock at the moment. AutoEXPRESS tested and recommended the Glass DuoFibre Towel for drying the car: it was thier car accessory of the year for 2006.

I think they rated it higher than the water magnet, but I can't be sure.

indeed - which is the worry, as the small section is Honda's hydrophonicrepellantcleverstuff - and it feels a bit plasticy

Who said "I hope C.H. doesn't spot this post?"

Why is it that in a factory it's called a 'time clock' when all clocks are time clocks?"

Using these treatments on plastic can attack the surface finish and make them opaque, so please make sure it is glass before using it.

Is the fog clear really that good? I was recommmeded Rain-X interior glass wipes and they turned out to be rubbish. The Fog Clear is a bit pricy, but worth it if it works well.

Here's what AutoEXPRESS said & a Customer:

AutoEXPRESS SAID:
"Along with Rain-X Anti-Fog, Comma stands out from the rest of our test samples - the two must share similar magic ingredients! Despite our best efforts, this product kept our glass completely clear. But on top of that, it's also very simple to apply - and this is where the ProVision scores over the Rain-X. The nanowipe cloth thrown in makes pre-cleaning an absolute doddle. What's more, the product's gel-like formula is easily spread and goes much further than you would expect it to. So Comma noses in front, and is a worthy Best Buy." AutoEXPRESS 17th January 2007

Also I got this email from a customer (Andrew Williams of Cardiff) yesterday:

"Just thought I'd let you know how pleased I am with the Fog Clear Gel I bought from you. What an amazing product ! I initially bought it for my mother's car as the blower/fan is not working and the windows were constantly misted up.

It proved so good that I've now put it on my own car. Even after swimming when I'm still damp, the windows refuse to mist up, saving the need for my air conditioning to be on !!
Very very good.
Andrew."

Disappointed

I don't know why, but "Comma Pro Vision Fog Clear Gel" just gave an oily surface on my car glasses. Tried it 6 months ago. Even after cleaning the glasses twice with "Comma glass cleaner" and 3 times with "auto glym fast glass" (to get rid of anything applied by the factory or the dealer), and applying "Comma Pro Vision Fog Clear Gel", the surface still got oily. (And I was really struggling to get rid of excess gel.) Could almost not see a thing when driving with the sun straight ahead. Had to use another product to get rid of the foggy glasses.

Strange, don't understand what you might have done. I've sold about 200 of these in the last month, since the Best Buy award in AutoEXPRESS, and I've had not one single negative comment from anyone about the product.

On the contrary almost universal astonismenet at how well it works.

I hadn't done anything to the windows since I got the (new) car. I just applied the gel with the cloth that came with it. Left it for like 5-10 mins. Then used the cloth again (a clean part of it) (I tried with normal cloths after the nano cloth as well). Maybe I should ask the dealer if the windows have been treated in a special way. It's odd that it didn't help to clean it throughly.
I'm sure it's a great product. But strangely it didn't work for me. Maybe I'll try it on another car later.....

Bumping up the Tomtom Offer

I just wanted to remind people about the TomTom one offer of a TomTom One with free set of Western Europe Maps for £179.99. I've only 4 left now.

You haven't polished it off enough. Use a clean microfibre cloth and some elbow grease.
