Stone chip protection

Does Diamond Bright provide any protection against little stone chips?

After 800 miles I have noticed a handful of tiny stone chips & wondered that if I had had the car Diamond-Brighted then would this have helped at all?

Or is there anything else I could use now once I've had the chips seen to?

If they are quote tiny then a paint touch-up kit is the first option. Second option is a firm like ChipsAway that can do a good job but like all trades there are good and bad operators, try and get a recommendation.

Final option is to let it go if not too severe and get the front end repainted every couple of years. I have found that the coloured polishes can help hide some of the damage.

And yes - as above - DiamondBright is no defense against stones.

Diamond Bright will not help, as said before. I had transparent PVC coatings at Ziebart to protect from stones.
After a very hot summer, they shrank at the edges about 2-3 mm but that is normal for PVC under the sun. The good thing with that is, you can take it out anytime without damaging the paint (at least that is what Ziebart said). I paid about 200 euros for the job. Not cheap but cheaper than repainting the whole bonnet and mudguards.

Wonder why they don't cover the complete panels? Wouldn't it make sense to do away with the line across the bonnet by taking the protection to the edge of the covered panel? Guess that'll be a question for the supplier.

How does the covered section compare to the raw paintwork to the naked eye? Can't make anything out on the pictures really other than the edge of the covering. Is it really so invisible?

Actually not any significant difference. The first day that it is applied, you can see some signs of application but they disappear the next day or so, depending on the temperature of the surrounding.
For the full bonnet covering, I am with you and think that it should be better that way. They had told me that much was enough because the hood contour turned more towards the horizontal after there. However, I just noticed 3 minor stonechips beyond the covered area and touched up with the spare paint. If that area received 3 hits, I wonder how many did the frontal part meet?

my stone chip prtection is.....keep a good distance from the vehicle in front. 3k and chip free last time i looked!

Unfortunately that does not work here.. Mine is past 14k.
1- There is always more than one volunteer dying to fill that gap that you leave,
2- On a two-way road there is much possibility that the oncoming car will throw a stone at you, because there are lots of small stones on the roads fallen from improperly covered dump trucks.

It is not possible to protect your car fully against stones, but take the best protection you can---the rest is luck.

Guys

Just noticed this post about stone chip protection, We in the main part try to avoid making adverts however I can shed some light on the issues above:

Korkuts install, this has been done with what looks like vinyl which is not particularly stable particularly on hot sufaces. One reason it has pulled back from the edges is that it is not porus so the solvent in the glue cannot evaporate from the film, meaning it never cures. There is a risk with very cheap vinyls that the solvent will etch the paint on your car.

Why not the whole bonnet, basically the restriction has been a manufacturing one and one of the machines we use to cut the film. The former is the proper films are all made in America but 3m, Avery Dennison and VentureTape and have traditionally been made in 2 and 4 foot wide rolls. Most kits are made from 2 foot rolls as this means they can be cut on the most economic machine to own. The trouble with 4 foot is that bonnets are on the whole bigger than that. To rectify the problem we have just launched 56inch wide rolls from which most bonnets can be cut from.

The film has other uses such as top of your rear bumper, door edges, door lowers, sill and arch, door step to name a few.
