I think there should be a law against putting Type-R logos on anything else then a real one. I'm ok with fitting the grill (since it looks better then the shiny throphy cabinet ), but no Type-R logo's please.

Thank you.

Why wpould you put fake type r decals on any other cars ... just buy one if you want one ..... plus the type r grill makes it look like a normal car with two head lights rather than the 'trophy cabinet' which looks like nothing else on the road !!!!!

boltonbrowny speaks the truth. It is us at Holdcroft Honda, just using ebay to shift a few things at a discount.

Mouse123. They are genuine Honda CTR accessories. For some reaon the 2007 model does not come with them as standard.

cheers,
Gareth

Thumbs down Fake Type-R's

Has anyone else noticed recently any apparant Type-R's that are actually Diesel Type-S that have had the perspex cluster badge removed and replaced with the Type-R mesh and also been badged up with all the Type-R decals.

I've seen three in my locality now...surely if you want a type-R buy a type-R if you want the practicality of diesel S just accept you can't have the R...

Maybe they are boy racers who can only afford to insure and/or buy a Type S 1.8 or even the 1.4 and want the sportier look of the Type R

True...to be fair if you didn't know Civic you would never guess it wasn't a Diesel Type-R...maybe we should congratulate their ingenuity...beats hanging around a bus stop....

There is one who drives round where I work in Cheadle that to look at it from all angles you would say it was a Type R (front grille, back grille, alloys, decals, badges, red interior lighting, red seats, basically all you would expect on the type R) however when he drives past you, it actually is a 5 door diesel!!

Thing is, if he actually took the I-CTDI badge from the back of it, you would be forgiven for mistaking it for a Type R based on all the work he has completed on it!

Madness!, especially as the money spent on the car plus all the extras would be enough to buy the type r with all the options plus insure the thing for the first 12 months!

This threads gonna get massive i would think.

One thing to remember is that 2nd hand cars can be got at some good prices some times.
Also a lot of people love the torque of the diesel over petrol. I love the torque of mine, definatly better than petrol. And thats before a remap!

Also crashed type r's make for cheap body upgrades.
