Tips on cleaning strange scuff!!

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to look through all the posts on what the best to clean scratches etc but ended up getting confused on what products to use on what, So I thought I'd post my problem and see if anyone can help.

Washed my car on Sunday and found What i can only describe as an Oval Shaped scuff/ smear mark in about the position of the Petrol cap but on the driver side. Anyway, after a couple of opinions, I think it's come as a result of maybe something rubbing against the car E.g a football glancing the side of the car.

It appears very light (i.e. you can only see it when you look at the panel in a certain way however it's annoying me as I tend to see it everytime I go to the car ) I've tried to take a picture however they make it look like nothings wrong.

After a couple of extra washes I'm hoping that I can possibly polish it out somehow.

Can anyone recommend a wax or treatment that might polish it out. In the meantime I'll keep trying to take a picture that shows it.

Thanks

try getting hold of some Farecla G4,its a very mild rubbing compound
add a bit of spit to it but be careful do it a bit at a time, it should bring out the scratches or at least make them less noticeable finish off with a good polish.

I had some mild scratches on mine and asked my dealer (Westgate Grimsby) for help. He said they used Autoglym Super Resin. Tried it and with a bit of rubbing it worked a treat.

I know what you mean about it only showing in a certain light when I had my fuel filler cap replaced they scratched the car - they then used a compound on the scratches which in turn left behind a weird scuff, quit a long one too. If the sun was shining on it, it didnt really show but when it was dull it stood out from side view and looked like a dull smear. It is currently at the bodyshop being sorted out

Good luck with removing yours

If your working by hand try some Meg's scratch x as it's very mild and should not leave any haze.
